Can you crochet a chain and a double, but patterns still look like a foreign language? Jane's Advanced Beginner Skills class this Sunday is made for you!

Over three hours Jane will take you beyond the basics – crocheting in the round, working with more than one colour, reading patterns and charts, counting stitches and rows, and fixing mistakes when they happen. You'll start a project in class too: a blanket square, hat, mitts or market bag.

They're the skills behind favourites like the Daisy Days Bucket Hat and the Flower Blanket. Left-handers are very welcome.

Which size is right for you? Project 9 holds a two or three skein project, Project 10 fits a whole jumper’s worth, and Project 39 is the Project 10 size with handles, a front pocket and a crossbody strap.

I had breast cancer last year, so Knit for the Girls is very close to my heart. Every year we dye a limited edition colourway for the campaign, and this year it's this gorgeous colour called Unbreakable.

Louise, one of our lovely team, is crocheting the Copper Beech one skein shawl by Annie Design Crochet in Unbreakable and it's so beautiful!

The pattern is simply US double crochet and chain, and you keep going until you run out of yarn. It takes 400m of 4ply, which is exactly one skein of Unbreakable, and it's perfect if you're new to crochet.

25% of every skein of Unbreakable goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation this October. Get yours now ❤️

Louise's tip: it's a four-row repeat, so she pops a stitch marker in at the end of every repeat. Whenever she picks it back up she knows exactly where she is.

New in – Jo Joz Art Studio's Marine Life stitch markers have swum into the shop! 🐠🐢

Joanne handcrafts every one from polymer clay in Maleny, Queensland. There are ten designs, including a Green Turtle, Clown Fish, Red Coral Cod, Manta Ray, Dolphin and Blue Tang. Each comes on its own seascape card, so they make a lovely little gift for a knitting or crochet friend (or for you).

They have a lever-back clasp that opens and closes, so you can move them around your work, and they fit needles up to 7mm. $16.50 each.

Which one are you taking home? We're torn between the turtle and the clownfish.
