Happy New Year to You and Your Family

I hope everyone has had a wonderful and safe Christmas holiday.

Well it didn't take long and we are at the end of January already. My intention of running a couple of Cooking Workshops during the school holidays didn't eventuate. My apology to you. We (my husband and I) had surprise visitors from overseas and helped an elderly gentleman in our community who was living on his own. He is now in a nursing home and getting the proper care he needs, thanks to his nephew. We have become close friends over the past 12 months. Anyway I am sure you don't want to hear about my life stories.

Good News is that the Cooking and Food Literacy Little Chefs workshop has turned into a weekly (Monday) after school sessions. Attached is my new flyer and if anyone is interested please text me if you can't get hold of me. My phone is having a temper tantrum when it comes to voice mail (still need to get that checked).

Now that I am refocused on the Cooking and Food Literacy project, watch for weekly updates on the page.

Stay Safe and have a very blessed year ahead.

Joyful Christmas to you

I pray and hope that you had a wonderful time with Family and friends. Time to slow down a bit, relax and were able to take care of yourself. Stay safe and eat lots of healthy food to get re-energised for the year ahead.

We have a wonderful Adra Christmas tree with baubles you can donate to and give a precious gift to others. This is for those in need in Australia and around the world. Check out the Adra Christmas gift website.
https://www.adra.org.au/christmas-tree-registration/

If you live in the Devonport Tasmania area and you want to donate cash please contact me (Adra representative). I can give you more information.

Happy New Year to you soon.
Take it easy and stay safe
Heidi

👮🏻‍♀️ Police are reminding residents of the importance of keeping their vehicles locked and their valuables secure as investigations continue into a series of car burglaries at Latrobe.

🚗🔓 The burglaries took place in the early hours of Monday, 10 November, with the offender or offenders having entered cars that were mostly unlocked or had windows down slightly.

🚗 Several vehicles parked in different streets in the town - including Alberta St, Laura St, Cotton St, Last St, Ready Place and Fenton Place - were broken into and various items stolen.

👮👀 Police are calling for information on the burglaries, including anyone who may witnessed people acting suspiciously in suburban streets on the night of 9 November or early morning of 10 November.

☝️ Residents with personal CCTV systems at home are urged to check footage and notify police if there is any suspicious activity identified.

🔒 📷 Police advise that locking vehicles, locking doors and windows, removing valuables and keys out of sight, installing sensor lights and security cameras can go a long way to preventing crime.

👀📞 If you see anything suspicious call police on 131 444 or triple-zero (000) in an emergency. If you have information about a crime, you can also report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers Tasmania at 1800 333 000 or at crimestopperstas.com.au

The Adra Cooking and Literacy Chefs have made some delicious and healthy (bonus) foods. The recipes range from Snacks, Main Meals, Desserts, Breads / Pastry, Soups and Beverages.
A new year is approaching so I plan to lead the group with special guests. They will help us to better understand nutrition that is in our foods, the environmental impact, eating smarter to have better health, our weekly budgets, etc etc etc.
I am interested to hear what your cooking thoughts and suggestions are.
Eg. What do you see is healthy?
What could you eat sometimes as a treat only?
Would you be interested in coming to the cooking class?
What day and time suits you?
What are your specific health needs?
I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you
Heidi Grimshaw
