Over the last two weeks I was involved in a Saga firing for my pottery. This is a technique I am new to and have never tried before, it involved covering your piece in raw materials and then wrapping it in aluminium foil and firing it. The materials often create colour or burn into the ceramic. Materials I chose to cover my pottery with were red onion skins, salt, sugar, horse hair, coconut husk, orange bags, copper. I then polished up the pieces with bees wax. I have really enjoyed the experience and plan to experiment more with this technique. Jasmin Sleeman
