Khadi Zig Zag papers come ready-folded into concertinas – a lovely starting point for small books, sketchbooks and travel journals!

Each Zig Zag is handmade in India from 100% long fibred cotton rag, with a medium-rough surface and deckled edges. They’re acid-free and internally sized, so they take watercolour, ink and drawing media well.

Each concertina has five faces and four folds. They’re available in 15x15 cm and 7x7 cm. Sold in packs of 5.

Awagami Mingeishi in Red brings a rich pop of colour to your work. Made in Japan from kozo and pulp, this 45gsm sheet has one smooth and one slightly textured side, with four deckled edges. It’s light and responsive, and well suited to chine collé, collage, bookbinding, papercutting and printmaking.

The Awagami Mingeishi papers are available in a variety of beautiful colours – and a warning should be given, it is very hard to choose just one!

The Surrey Drawing has a buttery, warm cream tone and a soft matt surface that’s lovely to draw on. It’s an acid-free, wood-free cartridge, well suited to technical drawing, sketching and general drawing work. The Surrey Drawing is now a slightly heavier 200gsm.

Woven Swanskin Press Blankets are very durable and smooth, they are ideal for printmakers who produce etchings with very fine detail. These can be used in conjunction with pressed wool blankets by placing one thin woven blanket closest to the plate.

We stock Woven Swanskin Press Blankets in 3 different thicknesses, and in a variety of sizes to best suit your etching press.

1.5mm - Referred to as the 'Size Catcher' or 'Fronting' blanket this blanket goes next to the paper, It has the tightest weave to give you a smooth print as well as "catching" the size (glue) from the paper. As this is the blanket that will get damp when printing it is best to hang dry before storing.

2.5mm - The 'Cushion' Blanket, this blanket adds cushioning for the plate while still allowing for sufficient pressure when printing. The cushioning provided helps the plate last longer for larger editions. Its wider weave can transfer to the paper if using on its own so a thinner (catcher) blanket is recommended to sit between this blanket and the paper.

3mm - The 'Pusher' Blanket, this blanket would traditionally go next to the roller. It is a hard wearing blanket being the thickest option with the widest weave.
