Owned and operated by third-generation flooring installer, Brent, and his wife Lewarna, alongside their daughters, Soudens Floor Collective truly is a family run business. The Souden name has been well represented in the flooring industry since 1953. Brent learnt his craft and developed a love for the trade working alongside his Father and Grandfather in the regional town of West Wyalong, NSW. Brent has been providing affordable, quality flooring solutions for Canberra residential and commercial clients since 2007, expertly overseeing all projects and working closely with our team of experienced installers to continually strengthen our reputation for attention to detail and quality work. At Soudens we are customer-focused, delivering what we say we will, while going above and beyond to produce the outcomes our customers want at a competitive price.

Vinyl flooring vs floating flooring - what’s the difference?

Vinyl flooring is a resilient flooring product glued directly to the prepared subfloor. Floating flooring refers to flooring that is not glued or nailed to the subfloor, but instead uses a click-lock or interlocking system. This includes hybrid, laminate and certain timber flooring products.

So while both can offer practical and durable flooring solutions, the installation method and the requirements of the subfloor can be very different. Choosing the right flooring isn’t just about how it looks. The right product and installation method need to work for your space, lifestyle and subfloor.
