1950 - Carte de REAM, Cambodge - Base navale française et base d'hydravions- Au début des années 1950, la base navale française de Réam, sur la côte cambodgienne du golfe de Thaïlande, était un poste avancé essentiel de la Marine nationale pendant la guerre d'Indochine. Elle servait aux patrouilles côtières, au ravitaillement et au soutien des opérations contre le Viêt Minh et les Khmers Issarak, tout en assurant la sécurité des routes maritimes et des postes isolés. Un terrain d'aviation voisin accueillait des avions de liaison et de transport, tandis que les eaux abritées de Réam étaient parfois utilisées par les hydravions de l'Aéronautique navale pour des missions de reconnaissance et de liaison -----

At the beginning of the 1950s, the French naval base at Réam, on Cambodia's Gulf of Thailand coast, was an important forward outpost of the French Navy during the First Indochina War. It served as a patrol, supply and operational support base for missions against Viet Minh and Khmer Issarak forces, while safeguarding maritime routes and isolated military posts. A nearby airfield accommodated liaison and transport aircraft, while the sheltered waters of Réam were occasionally used by French Naval Aviation seaplanes for reconnaissance and communications missions -

French Foreign Legion - 610e Commandos. Whilst this badge is generally associated with the French Indochina War, I have no record of the 610e been involved in any Indochina cctions. They were involved in the Liberation of France (Operation Dragoon), The Allied Invasion of Provence.
