🎨 JUST ADDED — two Australian artists, two very different additions to the Trail.

First up is Lucy Car Lucy Car, an Australian artist whose own description — “warm, quirky style” — fits her work beautifully.

Lucy is the winner of the 2024 Margaret McLaren Emerging Artist Award and a finalist in the 2026 Brisbane Rotary Art Show. Her latest addition, Eucalyptus, brings those wonderfully loose shapes and rich blues and greens together in a distinctly Lucy way.

And then we have Kathrine Kathrine, a Brisbane/Meanjin-based artist creating colourful modern minimalist work.

Kathrine has added something a little different: her 2027 Calendar – The Block Collection, now available for presale. Twelve months of her colourful block-inspired work in one A4 calendar.

Two artists. Completely different approaches. And both now part of what you can discover on The East Coast Arts Trail®. 🙌

Thank you Lucy and Kathrine for continuing to put your creativity out there and for adding your work to the Trail.

We keep our commission low and, where available, buyers can also connect and purchase directly from the artist.

CREATORS WE LOVE 🎨

There’s something wonderfully restless about the work of Paula Maggs Paula Maggs

Based in Naarm, Paula’s expressive work moves between figures, landscapes and abstraction — sometimes dark and contemplative, sometimes absolutely bursting with colour. What ties it together is that unmistakable sense of movement and emotion. These are paintings that ask you to stop and have a proper look.

Today’s Creators We Love feature includes Tryst, Windswept, Rockface – Promised Lands Series and We Stand In Line — four very different works from an artist clearly happy to let a painting take its own direction.

Thank you, Paula, for being part of The East Coast Arts Trail® and for sharing your work with our growing community of Australian artists and art lovers. 🧡

The Fairer Way to Buy and Sell Australian Art

Cairns friarbirds and Aussie artists have plenty in common — bold personalities, distinctive voices and absolutely no interest in blending into the background. 🐦🎨

Every Australian artist deserves the space to spread their wings, find their people and be seen. That’s what The East Coast Arts Trail® is here for — a little more wind beneath the wings of Australian creativity.

If you’re an artist ready to fly a little further, come and join the Trail.

Treasure. Take Home. Keep Close.

Some things aren’t bought simply to fill a space.

You find something that means a little more. Something made by an Australian creator that you want to take home, live with and keep close for years to come.

That’s one of the beautiful things about buying original work — you’re choosing something created by a person, not reproduced by the thousand.

Explore 42 featured categories on our homepage, with different Australian creators and their work featured every day.

🎨 JUST ADDED — and this one feels like a walk into the Australian bush.

Five new original works have joined The East Coast Arts Trail®, with four beautiful forest scenes from Nichola Roberts alongside something completely different from Maggs.

🌿 Beacon Point 2 — Nichola Roberts
🌿 Beacon Point — Nichola Roberts
🌿 Forest Road – Round the Bend — Nichola Roberts
🌿 Forest Road – To the Track — Nichola Roberts
🎨 Tryst — Maggs

Nichola’s collection draws you down those quiet tracks where the trees seem to close around you. Then Tryst changes the mood entirely — intimate, reflective and beautifully understated.

This is what we love about Australian art. There isn’t one style, one subject or one way of telling a story.

And there shouldn’t be only one way to buy it either. Purchase through The East Coast Arts Trail® and our commission is just 5%, or where available, connect and buy directly from the artist, with no ECAT commission on the sale.

While high-commission platforms can take a significant chunk of an artist’s sale, we’d rather give buyers a fairer choice and help more of that money stay with the creator.

Welcome to our very first Exclusive Tuesdays — and a very warm welcome to Nichola Roberts. 🌿

Inspired by nature, travel and the world around her, Nichola creates original acrylic works exploring forests, texture and light. These beautiful woodland scenes draw you into quiet pathways, layered trees and the shifting light beyond.

Thank you, Nichola, for joining The East Coast Arts Trail and choosing to upload these four artworks as Trail Exclusives. It means they are not currently listed through another gallery or online platform, but buyers can still purchase directly from Nichola or through the Trail.

Exclusive Tuesdays is our weekly celebration, but you can discover exclusive Australian artwork anytime. Look for work marked Exclusive, or visit our homepage Exclusives tile, where available artists and artworks rotate every two hours.
