Artists deserve a say in how their work is used. They also deserve clear information about what happens to it. ❤️

After conversations with creators today, I wanted to open this up to our wider community.

When you hear “AI training” or “image scraping”, what concerns you most? Permission? Payment? Someone reproducing your work? The uncertainty about where your images end up?

I’m asking because I want to understand what matters to you, and what we should investigate together.

What does opting out actually cover? How are images collected? And how do we establish the connection between collection, training and unauthorised copying?

You don’t need technical knowledge to have a view, or every answer to ask a worthwhile question.

At The East Coast Arts Trail®, your concerns help shape the conversations we have and the decisions we make.

Another sale on The East Coast Arts Trail® and this one’s got a little extra personality!

A huge congratulations to South Australian artist Vikada vikadafoxart on the sale of her wonderfully quirky painting, Lucky Black Cats, for $120!

Two mischievous black cats, one fabulously expressive lady, and a whole lot of character. What’s not to love? 🐈‍⬛

Based in Aldinga Beach on South Australia’s beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, Vikada has a story worth celebrating.

After putting down her paintbrushes in her younger years, she rediscovered her love of art following semi-retirement. Today, she creates colourful, whimsical, sometimes dark and wonderfully unpredictable paintings, guided by intuition rather than rules.

And we absolutely love that!

Because art doesn’t have to follow the rules to make someone smile. ❤️

A big thank you to the buyer for supporting an independent Australian creator, and congratulations again to Vikada. Another artwork has found a home through the Trail!
