It's a strange thing to be writing to all of our lovely painters and supporters today to let you know about a really BIG decision we made about our small business last year. It's a change that we've put a lot of thought into, but one we never really thought we'd be making.
A lot of you who have attended our classes would already know this, but when we named our business, Sash and Jayd, it was quite a personal thing for us both. For those of you who aren't in on the secret, Sash and Jayd came from my daughter, Ashli's name. She used to call herself "Sash" when she was little and couldn't pronounce her name properly, and it became a bit of a family thing to continue calling her that, so Ashli Jayd, became Sash Jayd. Sound familiar?
So when it came to giving my business, (which feels like my second child) a name, it made sense to call it after Ashli. We work in the business together, and to be super honest, she's always been the motivation behind everything I do.
The time has come though to admit that calling our business after Ashli, probably wasn't the greatest thing to do, and for many reasons which are far too boring to explain in this little letter to you, we are changing our business name to something that easily identifies what we do around here.
Our new business name - PAINT PARTY SOCIETY - encompasses a few things that were really important to us to convey when someone reads the name. The first of course identifying what we do, but the second was to include YOU in the name.
Why would we do that? Because our classes are about you. They are about the beautiful people who come along and share a few hours of their lives with us. When I think of the people who attend our classes, I think of you all as a community of people who love to do something creative while you laugh with friends, get to know new people and just enjoy an afternoon doing something with other people in the community. I had to make it fancy though, because that's just who I am, and so I called you all our "society" of painters.
So that's it. A new era has begun.
