Did you know that we now stock five Australian birds? We have blue wrens, w***y wagtails, zebra finches, Gouldian finches and magpies! Our magpies are life-size! All of our birds are made in Zimbabwe from recycled metal and are really sweet. They're available in our Hahndorf shop and on our website.

I can't describe how much I love taking photos of our sculptures. It's one of my favourite things to do but when you run a small business it can be tricky to find the time. But some days - when the weather is right and I've remembered to charge my camera battery! - I just head out and see what happens. Does anyone recognise the spot where I found these impala grazing?

It's that exhilarating time of year again - the SA Spring Garden Festival is on THIS SATURDAY, 19 September! If you love gardens and markets, this is the event for you.

It will be held at the Mt Pleasant oval from 8am to 3pm. The weather forecast is around 22C - not too hot, not too cold, just right for some serious market stall browsing. We'll be there with recycled metal sculptures from Zimbabwe and newly-arrived baskets from Ghana. Drop in to our stall and say hi to Henry if you get a chance!

Spring is nearly here, and no one is more grateful than stall holders who have survived another winter at the Stirling Market! Tomorrow's forecast is a fabulous 19C so pop in and enjoy everything this beloved event has to offer.

Our bird feeders - handmade from old oil drums in Zimbabwe - can also be used as bird baths! The Adelaide Hills copped a tonne of rain on Sunday and, despite the grey skies, these little zebra finches brightened the day. We have several different shapes and sizes of bird feeders on poles with all sorts of birds and bees on them! Pop in for a look or contact us for photos of what's currently in stock as they change weekly.

It was -2C in Hahndorf this morning as I was opening our shop. The main street was deserted except for one of my very favourite 90 year olds - Betty Hein - enjoying a coffee in the sun on the verandah of Otto's Bakery! Tell me, Betty, are sub-zero walks and decent hot coffee the secret to a long and happy life? I think they might be! 🩵❄️💛
