Serafina is a artist and maker based in Healesville in the stunning Yarra Valley Serafina works largely in three dimensions, in sculpture and craftwork.

Born into a family of artists, Serafina Munns (Miller) was encouraged in her creative interests. Surrounded by art, crafts and the Australian bush it is not surprising that she continues the family tradition. She also paints and draws as well as working in a variety of other mediums. Currently exploring the mediums and materials more traditionally connected to basket making Serafina is interested in creating forms that reflect experiences and they way each person sees the world. Over the last few years Serafina has also created a collection of baskets, mostly created from materials found in the garden and bush surrounding her. Often weaving a bit of found magic along the way. Serafina is active in the local arts scene in the Yarra Valley, and is a member of YAVA and Yarra Valley Arts. Other artists in the family include David Miller (Father)- Artist, Painter, Sculptor, Author, Illustrator; Sally Miller (Aunt) - Artist, Sculptor, Printmaker, Works on Paper; Rex Miller (Uncle) - Artist, Painter, Works on Paper, Charles (Dusty) Miller (Grandfather) - Sculptor, Painter, Artist. Many other family members are also creative and crafty.

And just like that, Yarra Valley Arts Open Studios 2026 is over.

Thank you to all who visited my Open Studio over the two weekends, especially those who braved yesterday’s downpour.
I loved seeing every one of you.

Next weekend, make a date in the Yarra Valley.
Come and check out my Studio, during Yarra Valley Arts Open Studios. This is where I make and create. Ask me questions, see my materials and workspace, and learn about what inspires me. Look at and enjoy my art, and buy your favourite to take home with you or gift to someone special.
You can also check out Savaad's sculptures and more and see what makes him tick as an artist.
After that, you can visit the other 20+ artists with Open Studios in the valley.

Open Studio weekends are coming up this month.
Enjoy a lovely meander through the beautiful Yarra Valley, and come and visit me, Serafina, and fellow sculptor Savaad Felich at my studio in Chum Creek, near Healesville.
I can't wait to see you and show you all the stuff I have been making. There is an eclectic mix of sculpture, weavings, wands, staffs, baskets, and other things of whimsy and wonder.
Like me, Savaad enjoys recycling when creating his artwork, which is very different from mine, but still whimsical and wonderful.

Come and visit my new Art Studio during Yarra Valley Art's Open Studio Program over two weekends in October. 10 - 11 and 24 - 25 October 10am - 5pm.
As a special bonus, artist Savaad Felich will also have his Sculptures and other artwork at Ambledown Cottage Studio.
Come and see me and my work in my studio, learn about what, how, where, when and even why our art is made.
The studio is full of whimsy and wonder with warmth and charm.
I will have lots of art and craft work for you to see and buy, including: Sculpture, Weavings, Wands, Staffs, Baskets and Bags, and who knows what else.

Fill in the rest of your weekend visit to the Yarra Valley with other Open Studios, a spot of lunch, a glass of w**e (or gin), and a wonderful wonder in the Yarra Valley.

Extra excited about starting to work in my very own art studio.
Until now I have worked in a corner of our library’ squished in besides the record player and the cd’s, on the deck outside which is a fantastic location with beautiful views, in the lounge room, on the dinning table and elsewhere.
But now I have my own creative space, my own studio and I am as happy as happy.😃

By the way you can come and visit me and my studio in October during Yarra Valley Arts Open Studio. As an extra bonus another artist, the fabulous Savaad Felich is joining me for Open Studio’s. Like me, Savaad often uses found objects and things others have thrown away, reusing, recycling and repurposing them into wonderful whimsical sculptures.
