Some pretty pink flowers for staffs and pink dyed carp skin that I am making wands from, will also use on a staff.
Do you think I should add a tassel to the wand?
Should I add some moss to the daisy root wand or leave it natural as it is?

I have been completely distracted over the last week and a bit as one of my dogs, Pirate, has gone missing. She disappeared from our place near Healesville, and we have been searching ever since.

I sat down and tried to channel my love of Pirate and need for her return into creating wands. Wands influenced by this beautiful dog, success was limited. But I see more black and white wands in my future.

If you have any information about Pirate or her whereabouts, please let me know as soon as possible.

I had a wonderful time at a Wands Making Workshop in Carlton yesterday. A great bunch of girls with lots of laughs and a great deal of creativity.
I hope those wands created lots of magic out on the town afterwards.

Today I am at David Millers Yarra Valley Arts Open Studio in Gruyere. In addition to his amazing paper sculptures which were made as illustrations for picture books, David also has a large collection of oil paintings available this weekend.
David’s warm and welcoming studio has wonderful views over the Yarra Valley. It is full of paintings in progress and completed as well as his numerous brushes and equipment.
David is most happy to talk about his influences, techniques and journey in art.
