💚 A Fresh New Look for a Local Ipswich Retirement Village!

There’s something very satisfying about seeing a familiar project come back to life! 🎨✨

We’ve recently had the pleasure of repainting over 1 kilometre of boundary fencing at an Ipswich retirement village — and it’s a project we know very well!

We’ve painted this fence before, so it’s always fantastic to return and give it another freshen-up. After the weather and Queensland elements have had their turn, a quality repaint makes such a difference — bringing the fence back to life and leaving the entire property looking fresh, neat and well cared for. 💚

From preparation through to the final coat, our team takes pride in getting the details right, even when the project stretches for more than a kilometre!

✨ Where Craftsmanship Meets Art 🌿🎨

Some projects are more than painting—they're about bringing a vision to life.

When Christine approached us with her dream of transforming her ceiling into a breathtaking botanical feature, we knew this would require exceptional precision, patience and craftsmanship.

The centrepiece of the room is a stunning decorative wallpaper mural, meticulously installed across the ceiling by Steve, our Master Wallpaper Installer. Every panel was carefully aligned to ensure the intricate branches and flowers flowed seamlessly throughout the space. Installing large-format wallpaper overhead is one of the most technically demanding decorative finishes, and Steve's skill, patience and attention to detail ensured a flawless result.

To complete the design, the ceiling battens were custom colour-matched and painted to blend perfectly with the mural, creating the illusion that the artwork has always been part of the home's original architecture.

The finished result is nothing short of spectacular—a room where your eyes are immediately drawn upward to a beautiful work of art. Combined with the crisp VJ walls, polished timber floors and classic Queenslander character, this space is elegant, timeless and completely unique.

✨ A Piece of Kalbar's History, Beautifully Restored ✨

We are incredibly proud to reveal the completed interior repaint of the iconic Kalbar School of Arts Memorial Hall – a building that has been at the heart of the community for generations. ❤️

This project was about so much more than applying fresh paint. It was about preserving the character, history and charm of one of Kalbar's most treasured heritage buildings, ensuring it can continue to host celebrations, performances, meetings and community events for many years to come.

From carefully restoring damaged timber, rebuilding a deteriorated window frame and meticulously preparing the original surfaces, to highlighting the beautiful pressed metal detailing and stage with a timeless heritage colour palette, every part of this project was completed with respect for the hall's rich history.

A huge thank you to the Kalbar School of Arts Memorial Hall Committee for placing your trust in S & D Painters. It was a privilege to play a part in preserving such an important piece of our local heritage.

✨ From tired to timeless! 🏡🎨

This beautiful heritage home in Ipswich was in need of a little extra TLC. Years of weather had taken their toll, with peeling paint, deteriorated timber and sections requiring extensive repairs before painting could even begin.

One thing our clients loved was the home's original soft blue colour scheme, so rather than changing its character, we refreshed it in the same beautiful blue tones, giving it a fresh new lease on life while preserving the charm they fell in love with.

Our team carefully carried out the necessary timber repairs, thoroughly prepared every surface by sanding the home back, and applied a premium 3-coat Dulux paint system. Due to the age of the home, some areas required an additional top coat as the timber was extremely dry and absorbed more paint, ensuring a rich, even finish and long-lasting protection.

The result is a home that looks refreshed, elegant and ready to stand proud for many years to come.
