✨🪵 BEFORE & AFTER – BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE EXTENDABLE DINING TABLE RESTORATION! 🪵✨

Another beautiful transformation completed by LANGANKE’S FURNITURE RESTORATION! ❤️

We recently had the pleasure of fully restoring this gorgeous antique extendable timber dining table for one of our lovely clients.

With years of wear, ageing and damage, this treasured piece was in need of some much-deserved attention. Our goal was to carefully repair, restore and rejuvenate the table while preserving its original charm, craftsmanship and beautiful antique character.

🌿 RESTORATION & REPAIR PROCESS

🔨 Structural Repairs & Restoration:

The table was carefully inspected, with necessary repairs carried out to restore its strength, stability and functionality.

Particular attention was given to the extendable sections, ensuring the table could be opened, extended and closed correctly while maintaining its original design and character.

🪵 Complete Sand Back:

The entire table, including its extendable sections, was carefully sanded back to bare timber, removing the old, worn finish, surface marks and imperfections.

The timber was progressively sanded using finer grades of sandpaper to create a smooth, even surface ready for refinishing.

🤎 Cabot’s Sassafras Stain:

The timber was beautifully refinished in Cabot’s Sassafras, enhancing its natural grain and bringing out the rich, warm tones that complement the table’s traditional antique design.

✨ Protective Clear Finish:

Three coats of clear water-based polyurethane were applied, with fine sanding between coats to achieve a beautifully smooth, consistent and durable finish.

This protective coating enhances the timber’s natural beauty while helping protect the table against everyday wear.

🔧 Final Reassembly & Inspection:

Following refinishing, the table was carefully reassembled, with its extendable mechanism checked for correct operation and the entire piece inspected before completion.

❤️ THE FINISHED RESULT!

What a beautiful transformation!

This once tired and worn antique dining table has been given a new lease on life, with its original character preserved, necessary repairs completed and its stunning natural timber grain brought back to life.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about restoring antique furniture rather than replacing it. These beautiful old pieces were built with craftsmanship and character that deserve to be appreciated and preserved.

Now beautifully restored, this lovely extendable dining table is ready to take pride of place in its owner’s home and create many more years of family memories. ❤️
