Ahhh, the first day of spring…
The sun is warmer.
The flowers are blooming.
A gentle breeze carries petals through the air.
Everything feels fresh, romantic and peaceful.

And then we remember…

💍 WEDDING SEASON HAS STARTED.

The cool room is full.
There are 400 stems to process.
Someone needs 17 buttonholes.
The arbour has to be installed by 2pm.
The bridal party has changed numbers.
Someone has lost the snips.
There are flowers EVERYWHERE. 😂💍✂️

BRING. IT. ON.

Who saw our faces in the MyCity Logan newspaper this week?!

Apparently we’re making a habit of this 😂 because Honey Button House has once again found itself amongst some pretty incredible local businesses, this time as a finalist for Best in Retail at the Logan Chamber of Commerce Awards! 🏆

And while, yes, we sell flowers… anyone who has actually walked through our doors knows there is a LOT more happening in our little shop than arranging pretty things in vases.

One minute we're squealing over someone's engagement, the next we're helping plan wedding flowers, then we're making something for a new baby… and five minutes later we're sitting with someone who has just lost a person they love.

Flowers walk us through some of the biggest moments of people's lives, and our team needs to be able to walk through those moments with them.

Sometimes that means excitement and a ridiculous amount of enthusiasm. Sometimes it means listening to someone's story. Sometimes it's helping them laugh on a really crappy day. And sometimes it's knowing when someone just needs kindness, patience and a little extra time.

That's retail to us. 💚

It's not just what leaves our shop, it's how people feel while they're here.

So being recognised for Best in Retail feels pretty special.

We're proud to be from Jimboomba.
We're proud to employ locals.
We're proud of the slightly chaotic, big-hearted team we've built.

And we're ridiculously grateful to the community that keeps walking through our doors and trusting us with their moments. The happy ones, the sad ones and everything in between.

Now someone please grab a few copies of the newspaper for our mums. 😂🌸📰

Next stop… awards night! 🤞🏆

Silly the goose has officially entered her motherhood era, and she is taking the job very seriously 😬 Six tiny fluffy shadows now follow her around, learning all the important goose skills.

Four of these little ones have already found their forever homes and will head off to their new families once they’re old enough. Until then, they’ll be staying right beside Mum, growing, exploring and causing plenty of tiny goose chaos around the farm. 🌿
And apparently Silly isn’t the only one with baby news…

Ryan the goose is currently sitting on her own nest! She’s still got about two weeks to go, so we could be hearing the pitter-patter of even MORE tiny webbed feet very soon.

Welcome to the farm, little gozzies! 🌿🪿

One of my favourite things about awards nights isn’t just seeing who takes home a trophy, it’s looking around the room and seeing just how many incredible businesses from Jimboomba and our surrounding community are there being recognised.

For a little town, we certainly know how to make some noise.

Time and time again, Jimboomba businesses are showing up as finalists, winners and leaders across Logan, and it’s no accident. We have some seriously talented, hardworking and passionate people building businesses right here in our community.

But behind those businesses are the locals who keep showing up for us.

You shop with us. You recommend us. You share our posts. You tag your friends. You leave reviews. You nominate us for awards. You choose the little shop down the road when you could easily go somewhere else.

And THAT is why Jimboomba businesses keep showing up on these stages. 🥹

We were incredibly proud to bring home Best Florist in Logan for Honey Button House, but standing amongst so many amazing local businesses made the night even more special.

Every time a Jimboomba business gets called as a finalist or a winner, it feels like a win for our whole community.

We might be a small town, but damn, we have some good businesses.

So here’s to the business owners having a crack, the teams behind them working their butts off, and the Jimboomba locals who continue to back us.

Keep shopping local. Keep recommending local. Keep celebrating local.

Because apparently Jimboomba (and all of Logan) are pretty damn good at this business thing. 🏆🌿

Wait for Jimmy's food drop 😆

Last night, Honey Button House was announced as the WINNER of Best Florist at the Local Business Awards! 🥹🏆

From a little idea that grew into a shopfront, a team, a studio, a cool room, weddings, workshops, council work, community projects and more flowers than I could ever count… this one feels pretty special.

But this award doesn’t just belong to me.

It belongs to our incredible team who put so much heart into what they do. It belongs to every customer who has trusted us with their birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, celebrations and some of the hardest days of their lives. And it belongs to everyone who voted, shared our posts, recommended us and continued to walk through our doors.

We are so incredibly grateful.

To be recognised as Best Florist in Logan, right here in the community that has supported us from the beginning, means more than I can put into words.

A huge congratulations to all the finalists too. It was wonderful seeing so many incredible local businesses showing up for each other and making new connections.

What a great night celebrating local business and the return of the Logan Regional Chamber of Commerce 🌿

There’s something pretty special about having a room full of local business owners, familiar faces and new connections all in one place. We’re excited to see what the Chamber brings to the Logan business community and, even better, to have more events happening right here in our local area.

Honey Button House even walked away a winner on the night! 🙌 We scored a $50 fuel voucher thanks to Nectar Mortgages : John Carson - Zangor ⛽️🌸

With the amount of running around we do collecting flowers, making deliveries and generally living the florist life, this may be one of the most practical prizes we could have won. 😂

A big thank you to Nectar Mortgages for the prize, and congratulations to everyone involved in getting the Chamber back up and running. We’re looking forward to being part of what comes next! 💚
