I've got spaces in the evening session of 'Boro: Origins to Now'. Next Thursday 30th April 6.30 - 8.30 pm $15. Text me on 0419 589 263 to book. Here's the blurb:
People are often surprised to learn that it is only in the last 25 or so years that heavily patched and mended cotton textiles from Japan have been labelled as ‘boro’. We’ll be looking close up at antique pieces from my collection both for inspiration for your own work as well as a starting point for a discussion about the history of boro – including the cultural reframing of this mending tradition in recent years. Please note that we won’t be doing any stitching but you’ll be welcome to take lots of photos.
If you'd like to keep up with what's happening at Wafu Works it's best not to rely on my inconsistent social media posts! Please subscribe to my newsletter via the website or message me with your email address.
