Let’s make a fresh foliage Christmas wreath 🌿

I started with a twig base and tried wiring my foliage on. Honestly? It kept springing loose from the spoil. So I switched to twine, and I really love it. It holds beautifully and the whole wreath is fully compostable.

And the best part is how easy these are. Cut your foliage into little bunches, tie them on, and keep going until the whole base is full. Then I finished mine with a rustic hessian bow and a few pine cones. Done!

The fresh foliage dries really nicely too, so it keeps its colour right through the season. Then after Christmas, just snip the foliage off, pop it in the compost and keep your twig base for next year. One base, a new wreath every Christmas. I love that.

Got home from Brava Women Networking today and my Langwarrin flower stand was empty. Every single bouquet, gone! Thank you so much 💗

So, I’ve been busy whipping up fresh bunches. Florist quality, seasonal blooms and some gorgeous Australian bush natives, all wet packed and colour coordinated. I love keeping them tonal, so think hot pinks through to soft pinks, sunny yellows and whites.

Flower stand will be full all weekend and cup day 🎉

Quick tip: please don’t pop your flowers in your fridge at home. It’s set up for food, not flowers, and they really don’t love it. A spot on your bench out of direct sun is perfect.

Working as a florist in a studio compared to a florist shop is very different.

I’ve worked in both…..they are extremely different ☺️

A shop front has to be tidy and ready for customers to browse. A sales person has to be available to help and make arrangements all the time.

I chose to work from a studio. This allows me to flower away or teach a class, while taking online and phone orders.
I then do deliveries then come back to do one big clean up 💐

You may drop in and select flowers from my self serve flower stand out the front of the studio 7 days a week. Yes 7 days during daylight hours.

Drop in and I’m not there? You think I’m closed? No, I just run my florist business differently to a shop front.
I run it the way that works for me and makes me happy 😃
