Starting this week! I am looking forward to the start of the intro to Gansai watercolour classes. A series of 5 classes will be held on Friday mornings 9.30-12.30 (5 June, 26 June, 3 July, 24 July & 31 July). Cost $250, or if you would like to bring your own materials or $275 to borrow materials. Ideal for people who are unable to attend weekend classes, and have been wanting to try gansai watercolour. Each of the 5 classes will have a small project that will help us focus on a technique, or help us learn more about the medium and tools. For more info or to book a space email [email protected]

Now I just want to go fishing! 🎣

These scales have been interesting - following the contour of its body and making sure to keep the shininess of each one.

There’s also a lot of “messy middle” in this piece; I keep moving backwards and forwards between areas, with no area 100% finished yet. You can see my first base layers way down the bottom, then where I identify the scales, block out its spots, and then had layer after layer of colour to blend them together.

I’m not even bothering to try to keep track of hours on this one, I’m just enjoying the process 🐟
