Join Kate as she discovers a beauty right here in Lauderdale!

This Viburnum Snowball Tree is a wonderful example of just how tough and hardy the right plant can be. What starts as a lovely ornamental shrub can grow into an impressive feature, covered in masses of beautiful white snowball flowers.

It’s a great reminder that gardening isn’t always about chasing the newest thing. Sometimes it’s about finding reliable plants that establish well, handle our conditions and reward you year after year.

Viburnums are fantastic for adding structure, seasonal interest and a little old-fashioned charm to the garden.

Join Kate as she features one of our favourite shrubs, the beautiful Callistemon!

If you’re looking for a tough, reliable shrub that puts on a spectacular show, Callistemon ticks plenty of boxes. They’re fantastic for screening, bring plenty of colour to the garden and are brilliant for attracting pollinators.

One of the reasons we love them is their adaptability. They can handle heavy clay soils and also grow well in sandy soils, making them a great choice for a wide range of gardens.

With the rain settling in today, it might be the perfect time to give your houseplants a little attention.

Kate recently had a great chat with Duncan from The Plant Runner, a well-known Australian plant care brand, right here at Harmony.

Duncan has supported Ange and I for many years, right from the early days of our Harmony adventure, so it was fantastic to finally meet him face to face at Harmony.

In this video, Duncan shares what makes Plant Runner fertiliser so good, how easy it is to use, and a few handy tips for repotting your houseplants.

If you’ve got a plant that’s outgrown its pot or you’re wondering whether you’re feeding your indoor plants the right way, put the kettle on, have a listen and pick up a few tips while the weather keeps us indoors.

And we thought we’d have a little fun today!

Our locally grown exclusive tubestock at Harmony

With a bit of rain overnight, it’s a great time to get out in the garden and plant some natives.

Our locally grown native tubestock is just $6.95 each or 10 for $66.

One of the big advantages of tubestock is the root system. As you can see in our image, the roots grow down through the tube rather than circling around the inside of a larger nursery pot. This helps reduce the risk of plants becoming pot bound, with roots circling around the pot instead of growing outwards.

Smaller plants can also establish well in the garden, with less root mass to recover from transplanting and the opportunity to grow into the surrounding soil.

And with the soil nice and moist after last night’s rain, conditions are looking good for planting.

Whether you’re creating a native garden, planting out a larger area or adding habitat for local birds and insects, tubestock is a great way to get started without breaking the budget.

Meet the Maker: Lauren (Loz) 🌿🏺
Loz has had her hands in clay since 2015, and nearly a decade of experience shows in every piece she makes. She's predominantly a wheel thrower, but you'll also find her teaching some of our handbuilding classes here at Harmony Studio.
Loz loves making functional ware, especially larger format pieces. Think generous serving bowls, platters and vessels made to be used and enjoyed every day. 🍽️
She's also fascinated by the chemistry behind the craft and mixes her own glazes, experimenting and testing until she finds the perfect finish.

It’s been such a hot day today that we’re all getting a bit delirious! Hahaha.

Show Day is here, and it’s a great time to get growing!

Our new-season, seed-grown passionfruit have arrived and are ready to plant. Available in 120mm pots for $18.95, with Black and Panama Red varieties available while stocks last. These have been hard to source, so don’t leave it too long. Sorry, no holds.

Yesterday we shared a look at some of our favourite tomatoes, and now it’s time to get planting. Our Harmony Grown, chem-free tomato seedlings are ready to go, along with plenty of other edibles to get your summer vegetable garden underway.
