Apology for the delay it's been quite an incredible journey i wanted to take it all in + travelling remote with poor internet connection it was complicated to be in touch.
''School under a Tree'' no more!!
The opening of Ankilemiavotse school took place while I was there last Saturday 25 April 2026.
The village welcomed Talike & I with a Traditional ceremony, rituals that i will never forget. π«
I dived into this fascinating world of smiles and happiness, exploring how our gesture created such a powerful impact in such remote part of the Androy.
The gratitude of all Antandroy people were very much felt. Hugging a 'Vaza' (white person) is not something they used to, lots of appreciation was shared looking at each other's, translated speeches, dancing, eating and smiling all day.
One thing i know is in the vast tapestry of human interaction, solidarity stands out and a smile speaks a thousand words!! π―
This remote part of the Androy now has drinkable water, a well that contains 50m3 = 50,000 Liters (thank you to ''Takeoutkere'') and a school with 2 classrooms (thank you to Talike Gelle) π
Any remote population don't need us to change their way of life, but we can encourage education and offer the young ones how to write and read while immersed in their way of life daily.
A first step against illiteracy! I think, when someone learns to read and write, they gain access to a world of opportunity. Itβs about creating new possibilities.
Ending poverty is a long road, sadly a lost battle if you ask me... but it begins with a single word, a sentence, a story.
Let these beautiful children of Ankilemiavotse & surrounding write their own!
This ripple effect of joy can have some pretty amazing consequences i reckon π
I will leave my fundraiser open to anyone that feel called to donate money to build 30 desks, benches for each class (so 60) + 2x table and chair for the teacher + 2x large framed chalkboards.
We estimate 8millions Ariary (around AUD 1800) to buy all materials, build and transport and around 2 to 3 days for our 2 hardworkers to put everything together and stay in the village.
To refill the well 1 truck takes 18,000 Litres which cost 563 thousand Ariary = AUD130.
Every dollar is a blessingπ
Thank you for all your support throughout this project. I could not have done this without all your contributions big or small, every cent made a difference. You are so appreciated!
Malagasy children smiles are priceless. Peace begins with a smile. Happiness is a smile.
Proof that Smiles remain one of the most potent tools for connection and well-being.
The end of school year ends in June in Madagascar, I truly hope crafting all the furniture's by the start of the new year in September so they all can sit with a minimum of comfort π

Love & blessing π«Άβ€οΈπ
