Living with pets changes how you choose fabric, and that's a good thing!

Tight weaves are your friend. Loose weaves and bouclé look lovely, but claws catch in the loops and pull threads. A flat, densely woven fabric gives paws nothing to grab.

At Allegra Interiors, we've partnered with the best fabric houses in Australia and can provide a full ""pet proof"" solution for your home. From window furnishings to upholstery and wallpaper, even rugs if you need.

So if you're not sure what your fabric can handle, let's chat.

Most wall coverings don't fail because they wear out. They fail because the look dates before the material does.

That gap between aesthetic shelf life and physical durability is exactly what we've written about in our latest piece on wall covering, mural, and wallpaper trends. We cover which finishes hold their value, how to handle commercial-grade compliance, and why skipping substrate prep costs more in the long run.

Read it here:

Watch what happens at sunset!

Recessed LED lighting inside the blind headbox is one of those details people don't know to ask for, then can't imagine the room without.

Why it works so well:
• The light sits behind the fascia, so there's no glare and no visible fitting
• Washing light down fabric gives a much softer result than a ceiling downlight
• It frees up surface space, no lamp needed on the sideboard
• Dimmable, so it scales from reading light to atmosphere

Add motorisation and the whole thing runs on your personal schedule. Blinds down at sunset, lighting up to 30%, all without lifting a finger.

Updating your space? Your existing furniture could be part of the new design.

If you're space is commercial, reupholstery can bring your furniture into line with refreshed branding, a new colour palette or a change in interior style. If its your home, you could pair your colours and design with new fabric additions such as bedheads or chairs.

For hotels, restaurants, offices and reception areas, it’s also an opportunity to replace worn finishes and select fabrics suited to everyday use, cleaning requirements and the demands of a busy space.

From refreshing a few key pieces to creating consistency across a venue or home design, reupholstery can extend the life of furniture and reduce unnecessary waste.

Most alfresco spaces end up in charcoal or oatmeal because that's what's easy to find.

We say, be different!

Ask us about bold patterns and textured weaves that feel nothing like the stiff stuff from a decade ago.
All of it built to handle UV, rain, salt air, and fun.

Love a bright, airy home? Sheer curtains bring softness to your windows while making the most of natural light. 🤍

They gently filter sunlight, soften glare and offer a layer of daytime privacy while keeping your space feeling open and welcoming. Their flowing fabric also adds texture and movement, creating a beautiful finish in living rooms and bedrooms.

For greater privacy at night and more control over light, pair your sheers with blockout curtains or blinds.

At Allegra Interiors, we can help you choose the fabric, colour and finish to complement your home.

Contact us today for a complimentary in home consultation and design the home that feels light, private and functional.
