Last rant about my plates (for real this time 😂)

This plate project really pushed me beyond my comfort zone. Knowing how temperamental plate can be in the making process - felt both exciting and quietly terrifying. There were moments of doubt, days of repetition, and deep breaths before the kiln opening.

But in that stretching, something shifted. I refined my process, trusted myself a bit more, and learned to sit with the discomfort instead of running from it.

I’m so grateful for what this project gave me, not just the plates, but the growth that came with them 🤍🤎

I can finally share this plate project that lived quietly in my hands (and heart) late last year 🥹

My bestie asked if I could make something for her wedding. After many conversations, we landed on plates with organic imperfect shapes and each one personalised with a guest’s name.

The goal number is 100 plates. Which was equal parts exciting and terrifying… because if you’ve ever made plates before, you know how unforgiving they can be 😅

These plates then travelled all the way from Melbourne to Vietnam, and seeing them land so beautifully on the tables honestly took my breath away. The setting itself was pure magic — designed by the incredibly talented wedding planner Quincy who somehow made fruits, flowers, candlelight and tableware sing together. The plates didn’t just sit there… they belonged, as if they were always meant to be part of this setting.

Huge gratitude to .form for firing every single plate. Not one cracked. Not one broke. All of them made it — just like this love story of Ha and Nick ❤️

Still feeling a bit emotional seeing them in the world like this.

✨ After a year away from clay, I’m finally easing back into making.

I pressed a pause to deepen my journey in Early Childhood Teaching - a path that’s been both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Now, with a little more space and a few ideas brewing, I’m returning to the studio with no pressure - just curiosity, gentle making.

Let’s see where this next chapter goes!
