Hello,

I’ve been doing lots of thinking about my page. Social media can be a bit of a mine field these days and this page was always meant to be a gentle place. A place for like minded people. It was never about making money or trying to get you to spend yours. It was about a simple life. About slowing down and about finding beauty in small things.

I am considering where I leave things as the6 are or whether I open a new page and make it a private one. Somewhere the trolls can’t invade and it might become a helpful peaceful place to come and share your views.

I would love your input before I make any decisions. My pages have meant a great deal to me so I’d very much like to make the right move.

Cheers and thank you in anticipation

On a cold Melbourne morning a little bit of red and white vintage goes a long way to warm you up. There is such a cheeriness about it and I find a little is better than overdone. White with red highlights is just so homely and welcoming.

Let your home become a canvas for living still life. When you create little moments life these it’s like living with in an every changing gallery. It’s fresh, it’s charming and it’s creative. Totally beautiful to my way of thinking.

It’s definitely worth having a small stash of tiny bottles, old cups, a cream bottle or two and even ink wells and salt shakers to use as vases. Sometimes is the smallest moments that make the biggest impact.

Enamelware is something I’m very fond of. It is humble, it is useful, it is practical and it is easy to look after and clean. It comes in beautiful shapes and the simplicity of design always speaks to me. The colours are usually understated and always appealing. I’m particularly fond of the white with blue edges but that may not be your choice. The vintage pieces are becoming more rare and a bit pricy but there is lots of new versions about at very reasonable prices. 8 bought a beautiful baking tray a few days ago at Aldi. White with blue edges but there were other colours and there was also pieces with a sponge pattern. Looked after these pieces will last a lifetime and they will keep on giving in their humble way to the next generation.

Maybe wealth isn't a number.
Maybe it's a Wednesday afternoon with nothing on the schedule and something good on the stove.
No meetings. No deadlines. No inbox. Just a slow afternoon, a warm kitchen, and a meal that has been cooking since morning.
That is a kind of rich that no salary ever bought anyone.
