The simplest jestures in life can leave warmth that will be with you for years to come. A couple of days ago my beautiful four year old granddaughter picked me some erigeon daisies as she felt our home after the day with us. She said I had to find a little vase for them. So I popped them in a little vintage white jug that was given to me many years ago. I added a sweet little painting I found in an op shop not long after she was born. As her name is Daisy just had to come home with me. A final touch of two friendship birds and it’s a very special little Daisy corner.

There is something so magical about a glass cloche the get to tell a story in time. A story of you. The vintage ones are beautiful but often hard to find. But every now and then I see one in op shops or flea markets. And it’s always worth checking market place. Then find ways to tell stories, with flowers, old books and photos, sewing notions, or anything else that springs to mind. The last pic is mine. Given to me by a dear friend.

A lovely old chair or bench in the garden is a soothing balm from the craziness of the world. Add some pretty cushions and a place for your favourite cuppa and you can almost feel the blood pressure dropping. It really needn’t cost a fortune but it will add riches to your life in so many ways. Try flea markets and market place and even hard rubbish and then add plants and more plants to create your own oasis.
