Take a wander through@my little backyard orchard 🍋🍊 These wine barrel planters filled with mandarins, oranges, lemons and limes have transformed a corner of my backyard into a productive and beautiful space. The fragrance, colour and simple pleasure of picking fresh fruit make them one of my favourite design decisions.

Because the best spaces aren’t just designed to look good—they’re designed to be enjoyed.

The best interiors are shaped by experiences that challenge the way we think — not just what we see online.

Visiting Melbourne Design Week last week with my daughter at Abbotsford Convent was an inspiring reminder of the importance of experiencing art and design installations in person and the conversations and emotions they provoke. From the striking individuality within 100 Chairs, to the unexpected storytelling of chairs layered with clothing, each installation encouraged a different way of thinking about objects, materials and how we connect with space.

What we loved most was the diversity of ideas and craftsmanship across the exhibitions — from the tactile warmth of the sheepskin gallery, to the thoughtful balance of beauty and function explored through Beauty with Useful Objects, the curated art and objects within Synthesis, and visiting Ink & Spindle Studio to see the artistry behind locally designed textiles.

These kinds of experiences are so valuable as a designer because they push creativity beyond trends and aesthetics. They encourage deeper thinking about how spaces should feel, the stories objects can tell and how thoughtful design can create emotional connection and curiosity within a home.

The best inspiration often comes from stepping away from the screen and immersing yourself in creativity firsthand.

Not all bathrooms are designed to make you feel something.
This one was. ✨

Behind these reeded glass French doors lies a master ensuite designed as a private retreat within this 1920s Melbourne Californian Bungalow — where timeless Art Deco influence meets modern luxury.

Every detail was considered to transform what was once a small, stripped-back bathroom into a light-filled sanctuary:
▫️ full-height marble surfaces
▫️ brushed brass tapware
▫️ custom steel-framed reeded glass doors
▫️ underfloor heating
▫️ natural light drawn deep into the space through skylights and carefully planned glazing

The beauty of great design isn’t just how it looks — it’s how it changes the way you live and feel every single day.

For our clients, this became more than a bathroom renovation. It became a place to slow down, reset and indulge in everyday rituals in a home that finally reflects their lifestyle.

Part of the shortlisted Modernist Memphis project for the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards, this workspace was designed as a bold yet refined retreat within the home — layered with playful colour, sculptural forms and curated objects that make creativity feel effortless.

The deep oxblood lounge, graphic rug and lacquer green table create a sense of energy and individuality, while the oversized shelving becomes both practical storage and a gallery-like backdrop for books, art and collected pieces.

This is the kind of home office that makes you want to sit down, think bigger and stay longer.

An afternoon immersed in craftsmanship, materiality and timeless design at the Melbourne showroom of — a long-standing trade destination trusted by many of Australia’s leading designers and high-end projects.

I always leave inspired by the level of detail and artistry behind their collections. From hand-finished surfaces and beautifully crafted furniture pieces to the richness of inlaid straw marquetry, every piece feels considered, layered and enduring.

What I love most is the breadth of styles — from clean contemporary forms through to more traditional silhouettes — all united by exceptional quality and unique materials that elevate a home beyond the ordinary. It’s these thoughtful details and tactile finishes that create spaces with warmth, individuality and longevity.

The best renovations don’t just add space — they change the way a home feels.

For this St Kilda West terrace, I designed custom steel-framed glass doors to draw natural light deep into the darker original part of the home while creating a seamless connection to the contemporary extension.

The result is a transition that feels intentional, architectural and quietly dramatic — preserving the character of the original terrace while allowing the newer spaces to feel integrated rather than disconnected.

It’s details like this that elevate a renovation from functional to unforgettable.

The Modernist Memphis House has been shortlisted for the Residential Decoration category in the Australian Interior Design Awards 2026—my first time entering these awards that celebrate the very best in Australian interiors.

To be recognised alongside studios and designers I’ve long admired is incredibly humbling… and a quiet reminder that bold, expressive homes do belong in the luxury space.
