Small vessels for small treasures, edible or otherwise. Little girls head straight for these, something they can hold comfortably in their hands and their big imaginations have filled the bowl before they get home. The perfect little handmade gift, just use your little girl imagination to make it personal: small soaps, herbs from the garden, jewellery or something edible.

Done of these heading to Excuse Me Katie's this week.

Large serving bowls. Probably the most used bowl is the medium to large serving bowl for hot or cold dishes brought to the communal table. Salads, pastas, meat, stew, curry. And I love making them, this one has quite a bit of grit in the clay which adds to the rustic vibe which is definitely my style along with carving and the use of matte and gloss glazes.

Rocky the salt pigs. These glazes combine well with the pink salt. I was experimenting a while ago with them when a friend asked for one Naomi and another friend asked for one a long time ago, I still owe her one Melissa Goetz

Chocolate Crackle. This glaze is reserved for ornamental wares like planters, vases, candlesticks and tea light holders. It’s a temmoku base glaze with oversupplied magnesium carb and rio (1.5 times) so when it combines with another magnesium crackle glaze craters form and unite in a little explosion party in the kiln. Perfect for quirky planters but not so lip friendly, not great for kiln shelves either.

Gellibrand Pottery Stockists in the southwest region. Couldn’t ask for a better spread of inland locations and along the coast. I have also added a stockist page to our website.

I thought the cold and frosty mornings may have killed off some of the cacti and succulents I brought from home. They are currently positioned under the veranda getting lots of sunlight throughout the day, and doing well so far. I love making planters. This one is with the ‘red rock’ glaze texture combo.
