010825: Thank you to everyone who showed such great interest in my West Footscray project recently!
.
It’s been exciting to share the interiors during demolition. And now, here are some a the 3D visualisation I created for the kitchen early in the design process to clearly communicate the vision to the clients.
This apartment is a bit of an elevated pocket rocket with a small footprint but full of ambition, design intention and impact.
From the first brainstorming sessions to conceptualisation, visualisations (like this one), and meticulous documentation—every step helps shape the outcome, and is all part of what makes the process so rewarding and successful.
This image began as a SketchUp model, which I then experimented with using AI to enhance it. While I think it turned out pretty great in the end (if I say so myself), it still took some wrangling and wasn’t the first attempt… even with super specific instructions. AI always wants to take a few creative liberties (like changing the kitchen mixer tap, even though it was identical in both original models).
I’m still a little wary of AI’s ethical and environmental implications in design and using it sparingly, but I’m also curious about how it might support creativity and efficiency, especially in small studios. Staying open, learning as I go. What do you think? xx

290725: The Refresh Begins!
Our 1960s West Footscary apartment project is getting a well-deserved refresh, and demolition is where the tangible magic starts. Stripping back the layers has uncovered some little treasures like original wallpaper as small reminders of the life this home has lived.
But what’s most exciting is the promise of what lies ahead. A full renovation that will breathe new life into this light filled apartment. Think a bright, cohesive 2 bedroom home with a reimagined kitchen and combined bathroom/laundry, upgraded flooring throughout, and a fresh, uplifting palette of colours, textures and finishes.
This is where character meets comfort, and function meets longevity. Where we will nod to the apartment’s history while creating something beautifully elevated and enduring for years to come. Watch this space… it’s going to be a beauty xx

240725: Today… Five Acts of Love at , curated by Nur Shkembi, is a deeply moving and exquisitely layered exploration of love in all its forms — not just romantic, but also familial, communal, spiritual and the love shared between friends. Featuring works by twelve local and international artists, the exhibition reflects on love as an active, transformative force tied to memory, resistance, intimacy, and even loss. Inspired by Rumi’s poetry and Sufi symbolism, the show weaves themes of wholeness and connection, inviting us to reflect on what we give and receive through the act of loving. A must see!
Artists: Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, Hoda Afshar, Megan Cope, Eugenia Flynn, D Harding, Saodat Ismailova, Khaled Sabsabi, Larissa Sansour & Søren Lind, Yhonnie Scarce, Ali Tahayori and Hossein Valamanesh
Thank you to my darling friend for a most wonderful day sharing this xx

170725: Plump, juicy and ready for their next chapter.
These vintage beauties at my fab Aspendale Gardens project have been lovingly rejuvenated by the incredible in deliciously good Atelier velvet. And don’t they just glow?!
If you’ve ever worked with me, you’ll know I’m a big believer in rethinking, reducing, reusing, repairing, recycling. I’m always hunting for the hidden treasures you already have, because often the pieces with the most soul just need a little TLC to shine again. It’s not just responsible design practice, it’s deeply meaningful. And the client message “Omg I love them so much!” is the icing!
Every piece tells a story, and I’m here to help them speak a little louder xx
Thank you for the glow up, and the image !

170625: More than a restaurant, invites guests to connect with community, culture, and shared humanity — a reflection of Hamed’s generosity, resilience, and unwavering ties to his Persian roots.
Kababi’s design is a celebration of culture and storytelling, transforming a dated 150 sqm takeaway into a vibrant Persian barbeque restaurant. Inspired by chef Hamed Allahyari’s memories of 1990s Tehran’s Kababi establishments, the space reinterprets tradition for modern diners.
This 26-seat kabab house features a statement vintage pink chandelier and intricate patterned tiles, paying homage to Hamed’s childhood memories.
Colour drenching in Dulux Watershed unifies the surfaces, and the existing salmon pink joinery was preserved, complementing traditional Persian copper cookware.
With Hamed’s newly secured permanent residency in 2024, 12 years after fleeing Iran, the project was executed within a carefully managed budget, prioritising sustainable, repurposed materials and thoughtful design solutions, along with Hamed’s own hands-on approach and incredible craftsmanship to bring his long-held vision to life. These details celebrate Persian heritage in a fresh, contemporary way.
It’s been an absolute joy to collaborate with Hamed, a chef, author, social entrepreneur, and all-around amazing human! Thank you Hamed for trusting me on this very special project. Sending you and your loved ones much love xx
Book a table now to enjoy Hamed’s wonderful food and hospitality at and support this amazing small business xx
