What chasing light looks like as a stylist.

Natural light is one of the most powerful styling tools for me. I feel like I’m always somewhere between chasing shadows and moving pieces based on the way light enters a space.

It highlights texture, adds warmth, creates mood, and allows materials to tell their story, from woven chairs and baskets to florals and shadow play.

The light that enters a space can transform the way it feels, influencing whether a room feels cosy or cool.

It’s often the first thing I notice, and one of the elements I like to consider when styling a space.

How to style a coffee table like a designer (and make it feel like home)

~ Start with a base, stack 2 to 3 coffee table books to ground your space.
~ Keep one open for a lived-in, effortless feel. (Also inspires to actually read the book.)
~ Add something textured, ceramic, vase, a piece to create some movement and height.
~ Create warmth, your favourite candle or incense, something to elevate the mood, soften the space.

I like to mix materials, travertine, wood, ceramics adds depth and interest to your table.

Keep it balanced, not too full, not too empty, let each piece breathe and offer space for your morning coffee mug.

A coffee table should feel like a quiet moment in your home, the centre piece to gather in your living space. Soft, layered, lived in.
