⭐️ On the spotlight
This rug comes from Kerman, a city that has been weaving since the 15th century and remains one of the most celebrated weaving centres in all of Persia.
While many Kerman rugs feature a central medallion, the all-over diamond lattice is a prestigious variation, each compartment representing a garden in bloom 🌷
Look closely and every diamond holds its own hand-knotted floral composition, a level of detail that is only possible through an exceptionally high knot count. This is the work of a professional city weaver, the kind who might spend years on a single piece before it ever left the loom.
Hand-spun wool pile on a cotton foundation. Low, flat, and built to keep every detail visible for decades.
Vintage, circa 1960 to 1980.
