For more than 80 years, Sturt has been a place where craftsmanship and community come together. As we enter an exciting new chapter, we would like to invite you to become part of Sturt's future by joining Friends of Sturt.

Friends of Sturt is a volunteer community united by a shared appreciation for fine craft and art. Through active involvement, members help ensure Sturt continues to thrive for generations to come.

As Friends of Sturt is relaunched as a recognised supporter community and formally acknowledged within Sturt's constitution, members will play an important role in strengthening the foundations of the newly established Sturt entity and supporting its ongoing success and impact.

We are excited to share that Sturt Gallery & Studios Limited has been officially established as a Company Limited by Guarantee. This marks a major step forward in securing the future of Sturt and its legacy as a centre of excellence in Australian contemporary craft and design.

The new structure gives Sturt the independence it needs to grow, while maintaining a close and enduring connection with Winifred West Schools (Frensham Schools). This milestone ensures that Sturt can continue to innovate and expand its reach within the arts and education communities.

A Board and membership will guide Sturt’s next chapter, focused on strong governance, creativity and community impact.

Join us on Saturday 15 November at 11:00AM to celebrate the 2025 Sturt School for Wood Graduates at the opening of Threshold.

Threshold, the graduate exhibition, will run from Saturday 15 November until Sunday 30 November. The exhibition is open Wednesday - Sunday from 10am - 4pm.

Congratulations again to all our Sturt School for Wood 2024 Graduates! It was a wonderful morning of celebration and we thank all who attended. Thank you to Michael Harris and Geoff Marsh for presenting the awards and thank you to Matt Tindale for speaking on behalf of the students and guest speaker and Kristie Phelan.

A special congratulations to Josh Donald for being awarded Studio Woodworkers Australia's Student of the Year and to Ken Playford for winning Advanta's Best Chair Award.

The Sturt School for Wood graduate show, Perspectives, is open each Wednesday through Sunday from 16th November to 1st December, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
