I can't believe the festive season is over already. I sat down in my den and did a 5 minute non Christmas piece to get my brain ready for getting into the pieces that I really enjoy making and looking at

Well, I finally set up my studio. I think I have a slight problem with living and breathing everything glass in my limited spare time when I'm having a good day with my arm not being too sore or not cooperating! It's so much easier to just have everything set up so I can just sit for 10 minutes and then come back to my piece I'm making.

Picked up my piece last week which has been my biggest project to date. Baguette platter with wild flowers. I crushed all of the frit (crushed glass) myself so the grass took an hour to make in itself to ensure that I had enough frit and consistent colours and textures across the bottom of the baguette platter. Turned out pretty similar to what I expected but no plans designed prior to making this so having a 3 hour time limit to use the different tools in a different studio was interesting.

And here's the rest of what I completed this week and they will be so much nicer once completed.

Picture 1 & 2 are layered green glasses with dichroic glass as ornaments
Picture 3 is an experimental design of just 3 pine trees in a snowy forest but this will be exciting to see how it turns out
Picture 4 is the beginnings of a coral bowl which will have one firing and then have another firing for the glass again in a bowl shaped mold to create the bowl which will have holes in it so it's good for holding everything but liquids in it!

Fingers crossed to the kiln Gods that the pieces come out looking better than they went in 🤞
