Celebrating women with soul, determination… and a little piece of the Southern Highlands
Sometimes a piece of jewellery finds exactly the right person to wear it.
A few days ago, during Tulip Time Southern Highlands in Bowral, Carol Brown stopped by our MO Resin stall and chose one of our signature Plage de Nice necklaces.
At the time, we had no idea that this necklace was about to become part of such a special moment.
We were incredibly touched, and yes, very proud, to see Carol wearing it when she stepped onto the stage at the Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards 2026, where she was named Australian Women’s Champion Master for her wonderful business in Berrima, Mrs Oldbucks Pantry.
Carol’s story particularly resonates with us.
She bought Mrs Oldbucks Pantry in 2018 at the age of 55 and, through the highs, the challenges and everything that comes with running a small business, continued to grow, innovate and believe in what she was creating.
Her words: “it is never too late to back yourself and have a go” say so much.
Because behind every small business there is a person. There are ideas, doubts, risks, long days, determination, family, community and above all, the desire to create something meaningful.
That spirit feels very much at home here in the Southern Highlands.
We are fortunate to live and create in a region filled with independent businesses, artisans, makers and people like Carol who put so much of themselves into what they do. For us, that sense of character, creativity and community is also at the heart of MO Resin.
And our connection with Carol is not only about jewellery!
We are always so happy to visit Mrs Oldbucks Pantry in Berrima. As French people who have made Australia our home, it is one of those wonderful places where we inevitably find something to tempt us beautiful condiments, delicious teas, marmalades and so many flavours that satisfy both our original French tastes and our now very Australian palates. Our top 3: Wholegrain Mustard, Harrisa Capsicum, Fig Balsamic Vinegar!
So seeing Carol celebrate such an important achievement wearing a necklace she discovered at our little stall in Bowral meant more to us than she probably realised.
Our Plage de Nice necklace is a statement piece, but on this particular evening, the real statement was the woman wearing it.
To Carol, and to all the women building businesses, backing themselves, overcoming challenges and following their own path: we celebrate you.
Women with soul.
Women with character.
Women with determination.
And sometimes, a little piece of the Southern Highlands travels with them. ❤️
Congratulations Carol and thank you for choosing MO Resin to be part of your special night.
