When I begin a painting, I don't usually know what it will become. I simply layer paint and textured paper until something I like begins to emerge.

This piece was no exception. As it progressed, I realised I had created what I imagine a conversation would look like in visual form.

It seems that wherever life takes me, I eventually find myself in a studio of some kind.

Recently, I designed and built farmhouse tables with my dear husband, Chris. I’ve also spent time in the rag trade, some of it working alongside my daughter.

These days, it’s through painting and collage that I continue to explore the world around me.

Art Among the Vines

A collection of my work is now showing at Centennial Vineyards alongside fellow Southern Highlands and Pop-Up Member artist Jan Pooley-Hibberd.

There’s something quite lovely about seeing artwork outside the traditional gallery space surrounded by good w**e, beautiful views and the landscape that inspires so much creativity here in the Highlands.

The exhibition runs until 30 November 2026, so there’s plenty of time to visit.

Meet Sally Beresford.

Hello, again!

La Citadelle de Blaye in the Department of de la Gironde c.1685 was built on ruins dating from 10th Century as a strategic stronghold against the British in the French Wars of Religion in the 13th C. and was formerly named Blaye-et-Saint Luce
