Porter Paints have a great range of decorative and textured paint. The three that I looked at:
1. Porters Interno limewash - think soft, cloudy, Mediterranean movement. It is a genuine lime based interior coating designed to re-create the soft weathered patina of traditional lime wash. It gives you that beautiful soft movement through the colour so the wall has depth and variation rather than looking like a standard flat painted wall.
2. Porters French Wash - think layered, broken colour/subtle marble effect. This one is quite different. You first paint the wall in a low sheen acrylic then apply the French wash over it usually in a slightly darker colour while it’s wet, and then it’s worked with muslin cloth or it can be ragged, dragged or sponged which reveals some of the base colour, creating irregular layered effect.
3. Porters Stone Paint - think actual physical texture rendered wall. Stone paint contains marble dust and the course version also contains grated quartz rather than giving variation in colour. It gives the wall texture. I would describe it as texture similar to cement bagging. It is for interior and exterior applications.
