The Sewing Destash Market has been running in Brisbane since 2019 - bringing together sellers and buyers of fabric, craft & sewing items to find them new homes & to save items from going to landfill. The Brisbane Sewing Destash Market is spreading its wings in 2025 to cover 4 locations in South East Queensland. Since its conception in 2019 our Market events have been host to hundreds of sellers

and thousands of buyers - bringing them together a marketplace of textiles, fabrics, habby, notions, vintage sewing, and crafts. Sewing Destash Markets are not a retail event they are a place where small businesses and individual sellers can come to onsell and rehome their sewing stash. The Market is a mecca for sewing bargains and the chance to save countless fabrics from landfill and back into the circular economy. Our events are managed by Together Event Co.

Come along and explore an incredible range of textile treasures — from quilting fabrics and dress fabrics to haberdashery, notions, buttons, patterns, and so much more. We’ll also have plenty of unique vintage finds waiting to be discovered.

Whether you’re a passionate sewist, quilter, maker, or simply love all things fabric and craft, there’ll be something special for everyone. Bring your friends, enjoy the atmosphere, and spend the day surrounded by creativity and inspiration.

The Sewing Destash is back! Brisbane's favourite preowned textile craft event, and honestly? It's a sewist's dream day out.

With the Market just around the corner, we need your help to boost our paper pattern supplies!

At each event, we run Patterns for Charity, giving unwanted paper patterns of all styles and genres a second life while raising money for a great cause. This year, we’re again proud to be supporting the amazing team at Care Kits for Kids — and we are in urgent need of more patterns.

If you have any unwanted patterns, or if you spot some while visiting local markets or car boot sales, we would be so grateful if you could pick them up for us or help source donations.

Can you believe it? We’re now LESS than 8 weeks away! 🎉

The biggest Sewing Destash Event in the country is popping up again at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds this June — and it’s going to be bigger, better, and (thankfully!) cooler.

✨ More stalls ✨ More space ✨ Some very special surprises in the works

And yes… we are FINALLY coming back! 💛

We’re so sorry we’ve been a little quiet — behind the scenes we’ve been negotiating new terms and conditions to host the event, and honestly… it’s been a bit slow and a bit tricky. But the good news is: we’ve finally got there.

Now… we know some of you might feel a little sad about this change, but we’re SO excited to share that we’re moving to a bigger and better market format for 2026.

For 2026, we’re moving to June, and our market will be held on:

🗓 Saturday 13th June 2026

We’re hoping this will be a win for everyone — it’ll be cooler, more comfortable, and much less likely to be stormy 🌦️🙌

PLUS… we’ll be taking over more inside spots at the bottom of the Memorial Hall, which means even more room for vendors and shoppers!
