👀 SNEAK PEAK 👀 Meet our NEW Butter Dish!

Soda fired in our original Mallard colour with a new bright cobalt blue glaze - It had to be tall, narrow and, obviously, make the natural colour of butter stand out as the hero.

Really happy with how this piece turned out. It does the noble life of butter justice.

Available from the first week of November.

A limited batch of just 80 pieces. And that’s all she wrote.

A FEW SHOWERS FORECAST FOR BANGKOK ⛈️

On Friday I set off to spend some time with one of our studios in the north of Thailand.

I usually spend a day or two in Bangkok to decompress and adjust before making the journey north. This time I happened to arrive on the day the city (in parts) flooded, unbeknownst to me. Although the 3hr cab line at the airport quickly gave it away. Despite the rain and risk of rising water, Bangkok was still doing its thing—being incredibly vibrant and full of life—luckily I managed to skirt around the water and still got out to see the city in between the showers.

A few highlights so far:

🍣 Sushi Juban — an incredible Omakase experience, eating fresh seafood while talking Japanese ceramics with the chef and owner. With each dish, he shared with us where he had sourced the piece it was served on, what it meant to him and why he had chosen it for that dish. A beautiful reminder of how much thought can go into both food and ceramics.

🛕 Wat Pathum Wanaram — a peaceful sanctuary tucked into the heart of Bangkok, with the city carrying on at full volume just outside its walls.

🌿 Landing north — arriving and immediately reconnecting with friends, followed by a bowl of Khao Soi. Northern Thailand’s answer to the noodle soup, and one I’m very happy to keep answering.

And now we’ve traded Bangkok’s concrete and chaos for tranquil palm trees and rice fields.

I’ll spend the next five days in a much slower rural setting, surrounded by the smell of frangipanis, warm rain on rice fields and forests in the middle of the rainy season.

Scroll across as I make my way from south to north.

The last six years in business has meant navigating a truly impressive variety of economic curveballs. Running a business, big or small, through all of this will test even the most seasoned operator.

But we’re still here.

And along the way, we figured out a few things that helped keep the wheels turning. Here are three things that helped us during the harder economic stitch-ups.

Today is our 6th birthday! Take a walk down memory lane with me to see what our first couple of years bootstrapping in business looked like.

Thank you to everyone that’s contributed to our story and helped to support us.

These are not your ordinary greeting cards. Each one is individually hand-painted, not printed, which means each one is its own canvas, its own little work of art.

I really value handwritten notes and cards, and I tend to keep all of mine. I fell in love with these cards because I think it’s special to receive a love note on a little artwork — and it’s fitting for our ceramic artwork, too.

Yes, they are a little more expensive than printed cards, but for a reason, when you see how much work goes into each one.

Remember we offer complimentary gift wrapping-so if you’re buying ceramics to gift, drop us a note at the checkout for us to gift wrap it. These hand painted cards are a great addition too!

LEARNING TO WINTER

A personal reflection on learning to slow down, surrender to the season, and discover what can be shed in the stillness.

The Blizzard collection was born from this journey—an ode to winter, rest and renewal. There are just 5 Blizzard mugs left on our shelves. We made only 200 pieces in this limited-edition firing, and once these last five are gone, Blizzard will settle into the archives.

If you brought a piece of Blizzard home, thank you for being part of its time in the light, and I hope it brings you comfort through the depths of your winter—a reminder to slow down, turn inward and trust the cycles we live by.

Last week’s fun in store 🌼

Elsa’s gentle hands helped us preserve blooms for our little displays and musings. Pieces she saved from the florist’s workshop floor, destined for the bin, got a second life with us, now drying on our walls.

Senem set a beautifully warm and spicy table to help us welcome spring. The store is packed with bright yellow wattle, something the eyes seem to agree with once you notice the mustard tablecloth.

Eleanor had fun with fresh poppies to tie it all together. God, do we love poppies!!! For the front window, a blooming of wattle, kangaroo paw and (my favourite) dusty green eucalyptus.

Somehow, she still found time, just for the fun of it, to create a cascading hydrangea feature, dotted with yellow paper daisies, which now happily lives amongst our gift boxes.

No matter where you are in our little store, there’s always somewhere to stop and look, to wander and wonder, to take it all in.

See you this weekend 🌼
