This home has just been named a finalist across four categories at the 2026 HIA Hunter Region Awards:

Some evenings are less about presentations and more about simply being inspired.

Our latest Designer Night with Tappeti and Textilia gave us the chance to spend a relaxed evening surrounded by beautiful fabrics and rugs, talking design and discovering materials that immediately get the creative mind working.

It was wonderful to see the showroom full again and to share the evening with such a lovely group of designers.

A big thank you to Tappeti and Textilia for bringing their beautiful collections to Newcastle, and to everyone who joined us and made the evening what it was.

There was no need to play it safe in this media room.

Our clients had a clear idea of what they loved, so we leaned into it, pairing rich blue velvet with a wonderfully detailed scenic wallpaper to create a backdrop with real presence.

We made the custom curtains, supplied the wallpaper and installed both, carefully considering how the colour, pattern, scale and texture would work together in the room.

The result is dramatic without feeling overworked. The velvet gives the wallpaper a sense of structure, while the pattern brings depth and personality to the space.

For us, this is what good interior design is about. Not creating a room that could belong to anyone, but working with what our clients love to create a home that feels unmistakably theirs.

Sometimes you’re not sure of what the best window covering solutions are - or what options are even available.
This client sent her plans prior to us coming to site and from this we can provide an indicative quote, with options for any window they want. After chatting on the phone we will be doing a mix of hand operated and motorised solutions, blockout and light filtering and sheer combinations, each to suit the rooms function, the window direction and privacy and sun requirements.

Big changes at Tailored HQ đź’›

Our lovely Grace is heading off on maternity leave as she gets ready to welcome her newest little arrival. We’re going to miss having her around the studio, but we’re so excited for this next chapter for her and her family.

And while Grace is away, we’re very excited to welcome Georga to the Tailored HQ team! ✨

Georga will be joining us in the studio and showroom, helping us keep all of your projects moving and bringing her own creativity and expertise to the team.

A pretty impressive finishing touch for the Knight Frank / McGrath Newcastle office fitout đź‘Ś
This 15 metre curtain track was custom made with multiple angled bends to follow the shape of the space, then finished with one continuous curtain running the full length.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes with a curtain of this scale, from getting the track bends and measurements right through to installation and making sure the finished curtain runs beautifully.

The result softens the office, adds another layer of texture and warmth, and works perfectly with the architecture of the space.

The track colour matters more than most people think.

A track that clashes with the ceiling or the curtain pulls your eye straight to the hardware. Matched to the ceiling it disappears, and all you see is the fabric. It's a tiny spec on the order form and a big difference in the room.
