I was honoured to be commissioned to create an heirloom box from an original piece made many years ago—one that held a special memory between a grandfather and his granddaughter.

I carefully restored the original lid and set it within a mitred Tallowwood frame. This now rests on a matching mitred Tallowwood box featuring wrapped, continuous grain and an inset chevron Tallowwood base. Inside, two Tallowwood rails support a pair of small drawers, each hand-engraved with the names of the granddaughter’s children. Every component is crafted from recycled hardwoods, finished with Scandinavian Oil and hand-polished using Cabinet Makers Wax.
