The Nundle Art Exhibition & Sale returns from 6–8 November at the Nundle School of Arts Memorial Hall, 101 Jenkins Street.

Our November shop journal is on its way to email inboxes. In it we talk about netting our fruit trees to help prevent fruit fly damage (plus Christmas postage deadlines, an upcoming giveaway, and Nundle events). This is Duncan’s technique. Keep in mind we have two netted tunnels and several single netted pear and apple trees. It’s commitment! We are sharing gratitude for a great man on Friday. Dad passed suddenly and peacefully on Sunday night with Mum, Craig and I beside him. He lived a blessed and full life of love and friendship. We are remembering all the good times. 💛

Melbourne Cup Day is publication day for Paula Flynn’s book, The World’s Most Beautiful Shops. We were treated to a preview of the pages featuring our shop, heightening our anticipation. Preorders are available of course (through Booktopia for Australians). We will devour the more than 100 stores celebrated in its pages, including some nine Australian shops. There is a kinship among retailers as we negotiate the challenges experienced in our work. Paula is among retail’s most significant champions, documenting stories behind storefronts through The Shopkeepers socials, website and newsletter since 2015. It is an incredible honour for our Nundle shop to be included in this global record. It is harder than ever to be a shopkeeper. Paula reminds us that ‘It is specialty and independent shops that keep our villages, towns, and cities vibrant, giving each one a unique identity.’ Thank you to our customers who help us make that contribution and to Paula for including us in The Shopkeepers community and her very special book. 🤎
