Alright, this feels like a breakthrough in my pottery journey. I made one little bowl that showed off this gorgeous Oribe glaze by Ange Glazes and I adored the effect of that green that becomes blue as the glaze pools together. So set out to make some more. I learnt from mistakes (cracks, uneven glaze application, the foot too shallow and glaze running too much..) and Booyah! Six bowls and only one that slightly dripped onto the cookie (hopefully dremel will sort that) and one with a pinhole. Think this is the first time I've worked so intentionally for a particular outcome, and have had it be so successful. Thanks Charlie Cones Studio for the awesome firing service 🙌

The colours remind me of the disappearing tarn in Tas 😊

Tried to take a video of carving these little ones yesterday... mostly got the top of my head 😅 . I'll be interested to see how they look glazed, but i dont think i have the patience to make anymore with this level of detail! 🎄

Trying something different with the christmas decorations. Was a bit inspired by some lovely sashiko stitching patterns that I saw. So have worked out a bit of a pattern. Just waiting for the clay to dry just a touch more so I can carve out some of the lines cleanly. I think I'll try one with the iron oxide slip, and one with a translucent glaze in a lovely green.

So grateful for my little studio space, but even more grateful on afternoons when the sun hits the workbench and I get lovely light and shadows 😊.

Back from the bisque firing Cones Studio whoop whoop! I put a reel up a few weeks ago about the iron oxide and the scraping back, very happy with the results here! So these will be cleaned up (a little bit of sanding to smooth out some bumps...) then a clear glaze. Of course you never count your cups before they're glazed, but they are looking more like what I had in mind, so I'm cautiously hopeful 😅

Very happy with this lovely glaze from SaJo Ceramics . Will look lovely on some of my bowls and vases.
