After a long break for the festive season, I thought I'd warm up my creative side with some mood boards.

Pink on Pink Bathroom: my grandparents had a pink bathroom when I was growing up, and it seems this throwback style is back again. In this moodboard, gold accents pick up the metallic tone in the blush wallpaper, while the mix of gloss and matte tiles and fixtures, create texture and interest. Layered shades of the same colour in varied textures bring harmony to this design.
Australiana Nursery: I came across this adorable wall decal of animals in tea cups & teapot, and I couldn't resist creating a nursery around this theme. Warm timber furniture brings warmth to this mostly grey aesthetic, with touches of pale pink and apricot to add interest. But the real heroes of this design are the gorgeous animals featured in the wall decals, mobile, artwork and decor. So cute!
Moody Dining: this moodboard was built around the colours of this stunning wallpaper by . This dining room feels classic and elegant, with a touch of whimsy thrown in.

How stunning is this dining space!? The classic floor tile and windows pair so well with that modern light fixture. But my favourite element of this design is the dark wall colour. Just beautiful.

CONCEPT | Brainstorming

Module Three includes taking a 2D image, like abstract art, and using it as a concept to apply to 3D form, like furniture selection.

Using a brainstorming exercise I used this piece of art to base the design on. I won't go into the whole process but it was really interesting and enjoyable.

MOODBOARDS | So much fun!

Module Three has me knee deep in moodboards and I'm loving every second of it. It's almost addictive!

Modern Victorian: this moodboard blends traditional Victorian style with some contemporary elements. The inspiration pic of the dining room with Victorian wall panels, wallpaper and style of dining chair, all influenced my choices for this moodboard. My favourite detail is the gorgeous Lock and Key Aqua Wallpaper.

Mid Century Modern: this style spanned from 1930s to 1960s. Low-line furniture like this sideboard, mirror the flat roofs featured in architecture of the time. My favourite item on this board is the sweet Summer Palm Tree Wall Tile in mustard. It would be perfect in mid century modern kitchen.

Wallpaper is a wonderful way to add colour, pattern and texture to a room.

Zuber & Cie] are my favourite wallpaper designers. Such vibrant colours. This Decor Chinois paper in pink colourway is simply stunning.

MOODBOARD | Home Project: Living Room

This is the mood board I created for our own living room.

So far we have installed the Fairlight with Ontario beige tiles on the wall behind it. These tiles were my modern take on stacked stone. So tactile! Keeping the country feel but without the rustic, heavy stone.

MODULE TWO | History of Style, Decoration & Architecture

Learning the different styles of architecture was a great history lesson. I particularly loved the theatrical and ornate style of Baroque (1590 - 1725).

Palace of Versailles is an amazing example, with it's grand columns, arched windows and its vast quantities of goldleaf applied on interior and exterior decorations. Definitely a bucket list destination!

Module Two assessment: 10/10 👏
