Every piece in the 'Hand of the Maker' collection carries the mark of the hands that made it - in the glaze, the form, and the weight of the finished object. That is what makes each piece unique.

The glazes found throughout the 'Hand of the Maker' collection were developed in-house at our Pakenham pottery, and inspired by the muted tones of the Australian landscape - eucalyptus, bark, stone, and earth.

Photographed among the bush that inspired them, these pieces reflect a deep connection between material and place. It is a relationship that sits at the heart of this collaboration between Robert Gordon and Hothaus Glass Studio, and of everything we create.

Hand of the Maker debuts at Melbourne Design Week, 14–17 May with its launch this evening.

'Hand of the Maker' is our collaborative exhibition with Hothaus Glass Studio, debuting at Melbourne Design Week 2026. Eighty years of ceramic heritage meets fluid, hand-blown glass; a sensory dialogue between the opacity of earth and the transparency of light.

At its heart, this collection is a celebration of what happens when two local studios come together and create. The subtle textures, the physical intuition, the imperfections that make a handmade object impossible to replicate.

We warmly invite you to come and experience it in person. See it, feel it, and meet the creatives behind each piece.

📍 14 Little Oxford Street, Collingwood
📅 14–17 May 2026

- Opening night: Thursday 14 May, 6–8pm
- Ticketed event | Panel discussion with HotHaus Glass Studio founders, the Robert Gordon design team and Ruby Shields () : Saturday 16 May, 11–11:30am
- Short film screening throughout
- Full program via the link in bio.
