What if a wedding chapel let the landscape do the decorating? This giantA design study keeps the hilltop chapel and reception pavilion plain and material-led: an arched forecourt in bagged white brick with olive trees and the valley beyond, a nave of exposed timber A-frame trusses with roof light falling across empty timber pews, and a simple stone altar table set before a full-height window to green hills. A lime-rendered barrel-vaulted reception hall holds long bare timber tables and bentwood chairs over handmade terracotta tile, a brass and timber-post glass colonnade runs through native gardens and gums, and the walk ends on a lawn terrace at golden hour.
Shown empty, cut fast from forecourt to terrace. An imagined design study only, not a real, planned or commissioned venue.
