Then there were two! 🧶💗 ... I think I might have to make another cardigan… but not too soon 😆

I made these in one week, so it’s time for a little pause.
Maybe I’ll finally write up the Yin Blanket pattern from last week 🤔😉

Do you have a crochet piece you just can’t stop making?

I made this for my daughter 💗

This is the same yarn as my Yin Blanket and in this colour I knew this one was for her 🌸

It’s the classic hexagon cardigan with a front post/backpost double crochet border. It took a bit of fudging and fittings to get it right (because why would I use a pattern or a youtube tutroial! 🤪). There are 3 different hook sizes in there because I forgot🤦🏽‍♀️

Anyway, mistakes and all, there’s something special about making something for someone you love 👧💗.
Plus its ready for her to wear for Easter weekend 🐰🪺🍫

Have you made something that went pear shaped but still worked out? 🧶✨

- Yarn: Stylecraft Impressions
- Hook Size: 5.5, 6, 6.5 ( take your pick or mix them all - it all works out 😉👍)

Well that didn’t take long… I started a hexagon cardigan 😌🧶

I loved this yarn (Stylecraft Impressions) so much in my Yin Blanket that I had to use it again.
This time in soft pinks and greys with those gorgeous little flecks 💗🌫️

It worked up so quickly. I’m amazed this is one ball, one evening, or two Netflix episodes… however you measure crochet time 😆📺

Which leads me to the REAL question…

Do I have my crojo back… or is this just stash guilt in disguise? 😅

Either way, I’m not mad about it 💗

Would you call this crojo or stash guilt?

This baby is finished… and it feels like it’s more than just a blanket 😌🌿🌊

After all the frogging and the design pivot, this turned into the easiest, most stress free crochet blanket I’ve ever made.

Lightweight, super soft, and built with simple, beginner friendly stitches that just flow. I got to slow down and really enjoy the process 🧘‍♀️☯️

And the best part… it’s going to be a pattern 🧶

The Yin Blanket really taught me what happens when you let go and start...and it doesn’t matter where you are 💚

After my monster frogging this week, I did a little design pivot… and I am so glad I did 😌🌿

I decided to make my crochet yoga blanket lighter and more open, something that feels softer, calmer, and a bit more yin.

So I chose a simple, beginner friendly stitch that brings zero stress. No overthinking, just easy stitches in a design that builds itself, with minimal ends and a join as you go that’s part of the process.

I’m really enjoying the slower, mindful pace of this project, and you know it’s right when a JAYG looks this good! 🧶

Sometimes the design happens when you let go and just relax 💚

👉Tell me I’m not the only one who had to frog everything to get here 😅

Down Here ⬇️

6 things I could tell you about frogging a nearly finished blanket...

1. You used the wrong hook and decided to ignore it

2. You suspected tension problems and chose denial

3. The dopamine mattered more than good decisions

4. “Blocking will fix it” was pure delusion

5. You wasted hours chasing a deadline no one on Instagram asked for

6. And now you have to undo every single stitch knowing you will probably make the same mistake again

It’s fine. Humbling, but necessary 😌

Save this for the next time you lie to yourself mid-project 🧶

After being ill for most of January I’ve been focusing a lot more on my health lately. And this weekend I finally felt ready to start something new.

So I began this blanket for my yoga class. 🧘‍♀️

I wanted a blanket that felt like nature. Calming and grounding. And this yarn is giving me all that 🌿🌊😌

I’m using two colours from the Stylecraft Impressions range with a simple meditative block stitch. It’s so soft and lovely to work with, and to me crochet always feels a bit like healing.

If you like this stitch and that lovely straight edge, you can find how it’s done in my free cowl pattern. The link is in my profile. 🧶

Save this if you’d like to try this stitch later. ✨️

You know I love blankets. And when it comes to gifting, nothing has my heart quite like a baby blanket.

They do take a lot of love (aka time), so my favourite fast stitch is corner to corner (C2C).

With a beautifully soft yarn and just three colours, you can work up a baby blanket surprisingly fast. C2C makes it easy to adjust the size as you go and clearly see what’s happening with your yarn usage.

Also, using three colours lets me run the yarn colours up the sides (see pic 4), meaning far fewer ends to weave in. Even better, the carried yarn disappears neatly into the border (pic 5).

What’s your go-to stitch or design when you want a baby blanket to come together quickly?

This is my favourite bit. It’s today!

Don’t worry, I’ve got all the pattern notes and photos saved.
But if I forgot something, I might just have to make it again.
And honestly? I wouldn’t mind. It was that much fun, especially popping the bobbles all to one side 🤭

Weave In As You Go is a little trick I use to hide yarn ends when I join yarn mid row. Its invisible, secure and saves you having to weave in ends when you finish.

I use it when joining yarn for my blankets and shawls. It's really good for fine yarns.

Swipe through and see how I do it. Would you try it?
