The workshop is very busy with keen woodworkers learning all the finer details of hand tools and the making of shavings and dust. Alex proudly delivered the Hadrill Cabinet to a lovely client in Yarralumla today. Everybody is very happy with it and to see the piece in its forever home. Now it’s up to the cabinet’s new custodian to style it and make it feel loved and welcomed (which the latter of which, I’m sure she is already doing in full force).

Round contour dining table with tamar chairs in blackwood. The table made by Evan and the chairs by Alex; this set is being delivered tomorrow to its forever home with some lovely clients of ours. We just made a similar set in rock maple and we love seeing the difference that timber makes in the presence and vibe of a piece.

Alex has recently completed this commissioned Cabinet. Evan worked very closely with the client to design this one, so it’s got a bit of a flare that leans away from our signature styles.

The Hadrill Cabinet in river redgum and rock maple.

The 2026 Dunstone Design Workshop Open Day and Hand Tool Event is Sunday October 18th, 10am to 4pm. We will be hosting HNT Gordon, Lie-Nielsen, Ben Adams, The Wood Tamer, Hardware for Creative Finishes, Hape Kiddle and more! I (Aditi) have just finished putting the final touches on this cabinet; the Fenella Sideboard 3 in red cedar with rock maple shelves. Commissioned by a client out of timber he’s had waiting in his shed for the perfect project. It’s come together very nicely given the constraints I had with the timber (I pretty much had juuuussst enough to make the cabinet).
