White kitchens often risk appearing overly pristine. In this Surrey Hills residence, Woodcut’s Carbonised Oak timber flooring mitigates this effect. In the Allambie Heights Project very little colour draws the eye, which is why Copenhagen White by Woodcut is so significant. The pale oak finish provides a degree of texture to a room that is mostly composed of creams, whites and soft mineral shades, and the fine grain patterns together with the scattered knots give the floor a natural unevenness that prevents the overall appearance from becoming too perfect.

The morning light shines through the curtains, catches the wood under the kitchen island and carries it over towards the stairs, where Copenhagen White extends vertically throughout the house. The overall effect is effortless, nearly barefoot, light, warm and quite relaxed for day-to-day living.

Last Thursday, Signorino and Woodcut had the honour of hosting the after party for Industry On Arthur 2026: A Decade Of Design. More than 800 architects, designers and industry leaders filled our showroom to mark ten years of Industry on Arthur bringing the design community together.

Surrounded by natural stone, porcelain and engineered timber, the room was full of ideas, stories and the shared passion that defines our industry. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate this milestone.

To the IOA family, our fellow Arthur Street showrooms and every guest who joined us, thank you. Your energy made the night unforgettable, and we are proud to stand alongside you.

What makes the Cootamundra Home so appealing is the combination of elegance and age. The room has white cabinetry, marble benchtops and brass details, all of which give it a refined look. Yet the Woodcut Antique Smoked & Limed from the Premium Collection introduces some irregularity and warmth, preventing the interior from appearing too clean.

The smoked oak colour gives it depth, and the limed grain, the natural knots, and the variations between the boards give the effect of wood that has acquired a character after a long time. In the kitchen and in the rooms adjacent to it, the flooring has a solid feel and matches well with rattan, dark timber furniture and the traditional details of the house.

When you sit at the Smithfield Residence dining table and glance at the floor, you’ll see how much Woodcut’s London Grey timber flooring adds to the space. The European Oak grain brings a gentle grey-brown warmth. It’s subtle, so the striped linen chairs and black spindle-back seats can stand out, but it still feels thoughtfully chosen and never like an afterthought.

As you walk down the hallway, the boards guide you past open shelves with ceramics and small objects, leading to a window seat covered in olive velvet. The curtains catch the late afternoon light. As you enter the dining room of the North House and look downwards, you will see the Woodcut Linen from the Premium Collection arranged in broad, straight panels underneath a round walnut table, with the light-coloured European Oak grain of the linen picking up the soft light that passes through the floor-to-ceiling sheers.

When you look at it closely, linens have a quiet complexity—there are warm underlying tones, slight differences from one board to another, and a finish that seems natural rather than artificial. It’s a kind of floor that looks wonderful in photographs and actually performs even better when you‘re actually using it day after day. If you follow the house layout, you pass a kitchen with olive-toned cabinets and Carrara marble, go through a scullery corridor which gives genuine design consideration to its practical purpose, and then reach the entrance.

Morning at the Toolijooa Residence opens quietly: light climbs over the paddocks and slips through the living room glazing to land on Woodcut‘s White Smoked from the Premium Collection.

By afternoon, the fire is going, flames visible behind glass, and warmth radiates off the reclaimed brick chimney. The shearling chair becomes the obvious place to sit, feet resting near the hearth, with White Smoked running underneath in soft, even tones.

As evening falls, the sheer curtains catch the last of the light, and the room settles into its most atmospheric hour, brass fittings glowing and timber surfaces deepening in colour. Through it all, the floor holds a steady, lightly smoked warmth, never too pale to feel cosy, never too dark to lose the sense of openness this home was built around.

The timber’s soft, greyed oak colour is deep enough to complement the original stone fireplace, but still gentle enough to keep the rooms bright and open. Natural knots and grain give each board its own character, guiding your eye through the hallway and up the stairs without taking away from the simple architecture.
