The right artwork doesn't just decorate a room. It gives it a focal point, adds personality and quietly brings everything else together. This piece was always meant for this wall. I just didn't realise it would be too big for my car!! Thankfully the framers (Fantastic Framing) saved the day with a delivery home.

They're the ones that make you say, "stay for dinner, the kids can play in the pool" or the ones you look forward to getting home to after a long day at work. The ones that invite you to exhale and make life that little bit easier.

In my 20s and early 30s, I spent years travelling.

Home was wherever I happened to be at the time. A backpack, a suitcase and a plane ticket were enough.

But something shifted when we started a family and bought our first home.

Home became so much more than a place to sleep.

It's where movie nights happen on the couch. Where the boys bring home school projects and where Otis follows me from room to room.

It's our safe haven. The place we celebrate birthdays, weather hard days and create the memories that make up everyday life.

I think that's why I care so much about what I do.

A home isn't just walls, furniture and finishes. It's the backdrop to your life.

And that's something worth getting right.

Books are one of the easiest ways to make a home feel personal.

Someone spent years writing that book. Photographers, artists, chefs, travellers, historians, designers – they've poured their knowledge, ideas and stories into those pages.

And then we replace them with an empty box because we only want the cover?

If interior books aren't your thing, don't buy interior books.

Display the cookbooks you follow recipies from. The travel books from places you've loved or want to go to. The gardening books with dog-eared pages. The art books you keep coming back to.

The most beautiful homes aren't filled with things that look right.
They're filled with things that mean something.
A coffee table book should tell me something about you, not just your colour palette.

There's a difference.
A home styled for sale is designed to appeal to as many people as possible. Neutral. Safe. Beautiful in photographs.
A home curated for life is something else entirely.
It's layered with the things you love. Designed around the way your family actually lives. Filled with pieces that tell your story, not just follow a trend.
The best homes aren't the ones that look perfect on move-in day.
They're the ones that feel more like you with every passing year.
As an interior designer, my goal isn't to create a home that could belong to anyone.
It's to create a home that could only belong to you.

A few beautiful objects that tell a story will always feel more luxurious than filling every inch of surface space.

Warm timber against earthy plaster tones.
Sculptural lighting at dusk.
Layered pieces that feel lived in, relaxed and quietly elevated.
That sweet spot between luxury and ease will always have my heart.
