It's so good to be back in Hedland.
One super unattractive storage cabinet turned into something pretty cute & providing much needed storage, completed over a couple of Sundays.

My absolute favourite wallpaper used, not quiet enough to do 2 doors so had to get a little creative with a pattern. Black surround, bamboo handles , finished with varnish to last the test of time in a downstairs entertainment area, laundry/ shower area.

Taking on a few customer projects in 2025 in between other ventures but I can't not do what I do ❤️🙌🏼

How's your Saturday going? Customer's items getting transformed to match a piece I done recently. The lady seen my buffet inside my home & it was instant love. I will be transforming her entire bedroom set in the vintage rustic look with the most amazing colourful tops.
There is no place I'd rather be than with my woofas, working in the shed, while the sun is shining today 😍

Refinished in a sage surround, natural timber drawers with vintage writing, a native look wallpaper with perfect colours to tie in with the sage colour and overall, the slightest amount of distressing on the edges.....an absolutely gorgeous piece that even has me going 'wow'. Flawless working drawers and finished with plenty of varnish.

I clearly loved this look that much that I had to tackle my hall table. The hall table is one of the first pieces I created from another piece 10 years ago. A dining table that the customer wanted a timber top on metal legs so I was left with the frame... Cut it down, put a hinged new top on it & wella, a hall table. The finish was still as good as the day I done it after 4 house moves, handbags & keys getting thrown on it 💪
I guess it's a little sentimental, just like my dining table ❤️ It had to match the dresser that is now in the same area & we are a bit under the weather in the house so a perfect opportunity to stay warm and get my paint on.

My first creative piece for a very long time & she is beautiful 😍 Well the top is at least.... I nicknamed the dresser 'potato masher' because the drawers jam really badly & honestly it could have almost been a tip job because like a lot of Bali teak furniture, once it warps or separates then it is nearly impossible to get things right again.
I can't sell it for this reason, it's purely ornamental.

With an absolutely awesome top done with paint pouring & adding colours at different stages of the drying process you get this really cool look, finished in high gloss varnish (almost resin looking) The base is ombre in neutral brown & cream, added my antiquing method in black & completed with several coats of satin varnish. Some new hardware to complete Potato masher & she lives another day.

Tried my best to get photos in natural light, worklight stand and phone flashlight but none really do her justice - hopefully you can feel the love that went into this , it's a really hearty homely piece ❤️

Well it's fair to say that my photography skills haven't gotten any better.... Lucky I have a crazy creative mind & can do some cool stuff with paint. These bedside tables were purchased from a local salvage company, the bed purchased from a gorgeous local couple. Total for a really beautiful bedroom suite $430. Reuse and recreate where ever you can is my moto ❤️ Op shop throw rug & some scatter cushions too.

Yes I will definitely be adding the same look to the bed frame but I have got 2 cool pieces I'm hoping to finish & list for sale early next week to start getting some of my work in local homes 😁

This is what I class as a basic refinish for a custom item. Probably be looking at $80-$100 to transfer a bedside table. This one has had no hardware changes, stencil, paint and lots of masking tape for fine lines. I keep pricing simple and reasonable. New hardware, transfers , wallpapers or whatever other fancy additions are charged at what it costs me basically so instead of throwing good quality timber furniture to the tip, Flick me a message & let me transform it. It's true ' they definitely don't make things like they used too ' , recycle your quality furniture and let me create something really cool for your home 😍 Functional art I've heard it called... Lets roll with that 🙌

Farewell Hedland... Hello Perth ❤️
Just made the big sea change after 7 years in Port Hedland & I thought I will get back into doing what I love. Firstly, a massive massive thank you to all my amazing customers and followers in Hedland. It's been a quite 2 years on the furniture front after renovating our home on Kennedy Street & losing the shed to motorbikes & man stuff but I plan on reclaiming the entire shed here in Perth. I'm super chuffed to have my functional art in houses all over Port Hedland and now I will be bringing some cool items to the suburbs of Perth but don't give up following, we may be able to find a reasonable freight company🤞
For any new followers, I have been refinishing furniture for a verrrrry long time, it's where I am at my happiest & with a couple of kids in my home, I know how important it is to make the finish tough to withstand daily life and wear & tear.
No wax used ever, everything is primed always, I use so many different paint types & brands to create whatever look I set out to achieve & I finish everything with several coats of varnish. You're in good hands & it you want the waxy feel, I can also achieve this, still using the above techniques but with the ability to clean my pieces with all your household cleaners and no worries about furniture getting grubby or little fingerprints showing up over time 🙌
Here's 2 TV units I have done in the last week, white Morrocan one is mine because I done so many for Hedland customers & really wanted one & the grey has just been completed and staged ( yep I have a new plant for staging 🤣). Grey one is for sale & it has a double art look that is easily swapped up 😉

Lets go with $420 for the grey unit

Hang in there crew.... I'm making a comeback 😅 I've had a brilliant holiday in Coral Bay and gave me heaps of time to figure out what direction I will go with furniture refinishing. I'm not going to put myself under the pump doing everyone elses furniture, probably go with 2 bookings per week. I will be doing some of my own creations on furniture I find and as always I refuse to sell s**t that's falling apart and if anything has any imperfections I am totally transparent and honest. My prices will still remain totally reasonable and I will continue to put my heart and soul into it because lets be honest, I've tried 2 other jobs and I know I should be doing this so here I am again.
I think there will be a fair few of you reading this thinking you little ripper 😜 My house is my show room and it proves that how I do this furniture thingy stuff lasts, more than welcome to check it out anytime. I guarantee that after 15 years I can tell you what can and can't be done and I will always go above and beyond for you because I appreciate your support ❤️❤️
Extra shed hopefully be getting built next weekend to accommodate the rustic creations madness.
