Started another farewell gift, this time for a Squadron Leader leaving the RAAF. This is the start of a stand for a whiskey globe. It’s currently drying after a sealing coat of ultra gloss polyurethane clear.
The Union Jack was three individual layers of permanent vinyl cut on the Cricut maker and the stars were also cut from permanent vinyl.
The two holes will house coins and I manufactured a new holder for the globe out of the same Tasmanian Oak as the base, this will blend in better than the original. You can see in the second photo the bottom of the cheap looking painted craft wood one in the second picture.
Still a small way to go before it’s finished, will post more photos as I go.

Haven’t done much woodworking this year, mostly remodelling the caravan.
I’m installing a shower which means I had to also rip out the lounge and move the fridge…. Just a smal thing :)
