It’s a blessing to be able to make beautiful things that you can then make beautiful things with, too πŸ€©πŸ¦‹β£

These were some salt dough ornaments I made using a little bit of red ochre to colour the dough 🀎⁣
⁣
You can use anything to colour your salt dough, but the colours will fade to a less vibrant shade as they dry. I think they still turned out beautiful though πŸ‘ŒπŸ½β£
⁣
If using ochre, I recommend only using a little bit and saving it for special keepsake or gifting ornaments πŸ’–β£

Strangely enough, I don’t think I actually have a memory of making salt dough ornaments as a kid πŸ€” ⁣
⁣
I might have, but it’s not one that comes to mind straight away. Do you? ⁣
⁣
Because I sure do love it as an adult πŸ₯£ πŸ’–β£

I love seeing how educators find ways to use Aboriginal resources in everyday activities 🀎 This activity was all about kindness, so the resource could be anything. But Rhiarn saw an opportunity to get creative with it.⁣
⁣
Rhiarn (Nikita, Nalani, Ned, Norco, Nutello ) is an early years educator and a long time customer of Ochre Dough. We often yarn, and she reached out asking if she could use our boomerang colouring page with her own additions. Of course I said yes, because it’s so well thought out, and drawing inspiration from First Nations books is a great way to incorporate different learnings into the classroom.⁣

This is me with my niece Charlie who just turned 1! She’s a little cheeky sweetheart. I can’t wait to get her feedback on Aunty’s Playdough Mix πŸ‘ŒπŸ½
