Spring cutting garden at its best. 🌸

Zinnias shooting up. Cosmos branching out. Strawflowers starting to form buds.

If you sowed Johnsons Curated for Cutting varieties in spring, vase season is nearly here.

Mid-October and the spring garden is starting to deliver. 🌿

Tomatoes are getting there. Herbs are going everywhere. Peas that barely make it inside before getting eaten.

Tomatoes love being planted deep. 🍅

Unlike most plants, you can bury the stem right up to the lowest leaves when transplanting. Every bit of buried stem turns into roots, which means a stronger, more productive plant come summer.

Make sure you stake early and before the plant grows into it. Much easier than trying to manage a sprawling vine that's already taken off.

🌸 PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: STRAWFLOWER SILVERY ROSE 🌸

Ever bought a bunch of flowers and had them looking sad by Wednesday? Strawflowers don't do that.

Silvery Rose is a soft, dusty pink paper daisy with crunchy, papery petals that hold their colour long after you cut them. Pop them in a vase fresh, or hang a bunch upside down to dry and you've got flowers that last for ages. Give them a hot, sunny spot with good drainage and they'll keep flowering right through the warmer months. The bees love them too. Spring is a great time to get them in.

And this week, you can WIN one!

✅ Sow beans and cucumbers direct into the ground
✅ Set up stakes and trellises before climbers need them
✅ Deadhead spring bulbs as they finish
✅ Watch for aphids on new growth (they love this time of year)
