Our stall will be closed this weekend! - we are prepping for summer blooms. This week we pulled out our rannuculus plants and stock, reworked the soil and planted our summer crops. 🥰🤩😍🌸

Last 5 arrangements in our stall today, after today, we’ll be having a small break (not really a break) farming the next crop of summer flowers our zinnias and dahlias! This hot weather has withered away our rannuculus and stock flowers.

Something a little different for Fairview this morning! - it’s harvest time, of the barley in our paddock, farmer Wayne has done an impeccable job - one of the best barley crops this season considering the dry weather.

The truth is… I’m going to miss Rannuculus, we’ve had a beautiful season but as the days warm up our cool flowers start to die off. Although our weather has been unpredictable lately! 30 degree days and back to 0 degree nights! It’s been an odd few weeks.

We’ll start planting our summer crops this weekend. So stay tuned for the summer season as we go through it!!

Growing up at FAIRVIEW 🌼🌸💐

I often wonder what our kids will remember about growing up here.

Our daughter loves choosing her favourite flowers, and our son is never too far away when there’s a job to be done.

They’re growing up alongside this little flower farm of ours. Watching things grow, helping where they can and learning that beautiful things take time, patience and a fair bit of hard work.

Some days they’re helpful, other days they’re just along for the ride. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I hope one day they look back at these photos and remember how much of their childhood was spent right here.

Because while I’m busy growing flowers, they’re busy growing up.

And I’m so grateful we get to do it right here, on our farm Fairview 😍🥰

A little weekend magic at Fairview. 🌙

90 fence posts in, the dahlia beds nearly ready, and the most beautiful moon rising over the mountains.

There’s still plenty of work to do before the dahlias go in, but looking out over these beds on the weekend, I couldn’t help but feel proud of how far we’ve come.

It’s hard to imagine that in just a few months, this patch of dirt will be filled with flowers.
For now, I’ll happily take this view.
